Travlr (700), Washington, Washington DC, USA Jul 24, 2009 I worked in a beer warehouse in Bayonne New Jersey when I was in college, and we imported Moosehead. I used to wear a T shirt, while I was driving a forklift, that said "Moosehead is better than no head at all." So I guess that made an impression on me. brithen (3), Ontario, Canada does not count Jul 21, 2009 Potent aroma after opening. Pours a very light amber colour. I find this beer to be pretty refreshing with more flavour than most of its competitors. hombrepalo (748), Chicago, Illinois, USA Jul 20, 2009 Bottle from single rack LCBO. The aroma is quite skunky, with some light hoppy, and floral hints, but is greatly overpowered by the skunk. The appearance is a pale, clear gold, with a thin bubbly head. The flavor is light, a bit dity. Nothing special. ChainGangGuy (2523), Kennesaw, Georgia, USA Jul 18, 2009 12 ounce bottle - $1.29 at Total Wine & More in Kennesaw, Georgia.
Appearance: Pours the predictable clear, yellow body with a foamy, white head.
Smell: A bit skunky initially. Then, after the stink has had some time to waft away, you get some sweetish malt hints and floral, lightly grassy hops.
Taste: Sweet, lightly husky light pale maltiness with some floral, herbaceous hoppy accents and restrained bitterness. Finishes dry, crisp, and with some enduring grainy hints.
Mouthfeel: Light-bodied. Medium-plus carbonation with an overall crisp mouthfeel.
Drinkability: An acceptable, easily drinkable lager that, forgiving the minor skunkiness, is just a hair more distinctive than the rest of the macro lagers out there. Strangebrewer (208), Chatham, Ontario, Canada Jul 17, 2009 bottle. Poured clear gold with initially thick white head that recedes. Moderate sweet hoppy corn aroma. Malty, buttery, mildly bitterflavour. Smooth mouthfeel. More flavour than alot of the mainstream pale lagers. MrRoss (614), Delta, British Columbia, Canada Jul 17, 2009 Such a disappointment this was. Just another swill, with at least a decent medium yellow colour, but the aroma was a bit "green" as was the taste, like it was bottled too soon. I probably won’t have this again. Onslow (174), Kalamazoo, Michigan, USA Jul 8, 2009 Pour from a 12 oz bottle. Aroma of grain with a bit of hops. Looks like any other pale lager - which is always a pleasant sight, even if it is unremarkable. Mild malty flavor with a kiss ofhops in the finish. OK and better than many, but not distinctive. nittanytide (33), Pennsylvania, USA Jul 1, 2009 Well-balanced. I was expecting more hops out of this, but they were muted by the malt. Drinkable, but I was expecting something a little bolder, with a little more character. Decent for the price though.
