UPDATED: OCT 7, 2007 Bottle, 355ml. Never been fond of the smell. Doesn’t look particularly good either... Goes down easy enough, which is often all you ask of a macro. I call it an old reliable, as I rarely get tired of it, though I try to do better.

A pale beer that is nothing too special in my opinion. Though it had some decent flavor with lots of carbonation. I probably will not drink this beer again.

31-Jul-07 (12 oz bottle: BevMo in La Jolla, CA) Moosehead might not be a bad beer if it weren’t so sweet. At the forefront are the sweet, cardboardy and vaguely bready malts, but the beer doesn’t exactly taste malty. And though the beer doesn’t taste hoppy either, a gently spicy and vaguely bitter flavor seems to indicate the theoretical presence of hops, giving the beer at least some credibility. Unfortunately, the imaginary hops fades on the palate, leaving the papery sweetness to stand alone in the uncleansing finish. Aroma is a little cardboardy too, but mostly just sweet and honeylike. Light-medium bodied with ample carbonation, but this beer leaves the palate fatigued and stale. Dark straw in color and perfectly clear, just as the beer should be. Quarter-inch white head fades to a wide ring, but no lacing. Not something I’d ever buy, but I’m quite sure you can do worse than Moosehead.

A decent quaff, nothing spectacular, but very drinkable. nice.

Pours blonde with overly large white head. Slightly skunky aroma with a slight grainy metallic flavor. Very similar to Lowenbrau.

Pour is a blond with a huge white head. Aroma can be skunked at times, other times just a pale lager grain. Flavor is very grainy but smooth. An ok lager if served very cold. In college we though we were the shit for paying extra for this imported beer.

Sampled single bottle at company picnic (someon brought their own beer). Pours a golden pale yellow brew with a fast dissolving white head that leaves behind a white ring. Aroma of light bread dough and sour funk (citrus, moldy herbs, etc). Taste is highly carbonated, light bodied, a gritty multi-grain texture and sour citrus. Finish is very gritty and metalic. Kind of reminds me of a malt cereal beverage with some alcohol added. Man! I remember when my college buddies were drinking this like there was no tomorrow. As I did back then and still know today, there is a tomorrow and more beer will be there.

Light pale color, aroma that is somewhat skunky. Flavor is of your basic lager types, grass, a bit of malts. Finishes easy, but unspectacular. Easy to drink on a hot day, but don’t let your friends see you drinking it. Drank alot of this while growing up in hawaii.
