Dark bronze, like a well-used penny, with a frothy white head, leaving layered lacing behind. Smells of molasses, red grapes, raisins and caramel. Tastes are identical, with some bread pudding in the mix. This tastes very much like some Belgian Dubbels that I’ve had. This is one sneaky, deceptive beer, that is far more complex than one initially thinks, that grows in intensity as it warms. I know this is a macro brewery, but this brew proves there is hope for them.

(bottle, 34.1cl) Clear, amber colour with a beige medium-sized foamy head. Mildly citrus-fruity hoppy aroma with delicately biscuity cara-malt. Moderately bitter-sweet flavour, light to medium bodied with an almost crisp carbonation. Slightly toasted British malt character with mildly fruity and delicately woody hops; dry-ish and quite rounded malty and hoppy finish. Likeable. 27.X.14

Bottle. A clear, glowing golden colored beer topped by a small, dense, off-white head. Grassy, piney hops with some citrus, as well as pale malts in the aroma. Some cheesy hints. It’s medium to full bodied, with some caramel malty sweetness and a faint spiced touch. Full body, soft carbonation. Decent bitterness towards the finish. A quite decent one, but a bit gentle and cheesy. 141025

Bottle. Light amber, small to average and fully diminishing head. Light to moderate malty and lightly sweetish aroma, some caramel with some berry - floral fruitiness, light hoppyness. Body is medium, malty and sweetish, some caramel and berry - floral fruitiness, light hoppyness. Finish is short to average, malty and lightly sweetish - sweetish with some caramel and light berry fruitiness, light hoppyness. Caramel sweetish amber ale. Lacks character (as most amber ales do).

Bottle. NIce amber brown color, small white head. Grassy citrus aromas, neat. Taste is dry with good portion hops, slightliest metallic, strong hopped. Aftertaste is a bit malty, with short hop aromas. The fine aromas from the hops could be a bit more present, but all in all good drinkable.

I LOVE this beer! Beautiful spicy, piney taste with fruit, citrus aromas. Could us a bit more malt body, but overall a great session beer.

341ml bottle. Maybe I got an older bottle, but this tasted like a slightly skunked macro ale. Over-carbonated, thin. All sweet malts and I couldn’t detect any of the alleged C hops.

Pours a lovely dark amber with a foamy head. Nice citrus and resin aroma. Flavour is very rich, a bit of smoke, resiny bitterness, nice malt balance. It doesn’t stand out over some craft ale, but this is a very sessionable and enjoyable brew. I would cheerfully buy more to enjoy over a weekend.
