1.3 AROMA 2/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 2/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 6/20 Narnad (1342) - Wonder Lake, Illinois, USA - MAY 31, 2010
Pours a very clear, very light yellow in color with a tall, fast fading white head. Aroma has a strong grainy note, light corny sweetness, very mild noble hops but all in all, not much there to rate. Flavor is very light as well with some watered down grainy notes and a very light spicy noble hops ending. Light body with a pretty fizzy feeling. Overall a small beer with not much to offer in flavor or aroma. I guess not bad considering there isn’t much that can really offend ya.
2.4 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20 presario (4406) - Stampede City, Alberta, CANADA - MAR 9, 2010
Sampled at Bottlescrew Bill’s festival. They were all excited because it is coming out in slim cans and will be the ultimate golf beer becuase the slim can will fit in the golf bag better? As a North American Light or Ultralight it was comparatively OK. Yellow and grainy. Actually had a light clean flavour. Not going to replace anything for me but it was better than Coors Light if you want to have some taste.
2.6 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 sinkhole (261) - Ottawa, Ontario, CANADA - FEB 13, 2010
I’m not a fan of Moosehead so I wasn’t expecting much out of this one, but I must say that I rather enjoyed it. Pours pale yellow with average white head. Subtle aromas of grains, hops and yeast which carry through to a solid taste (for a light light beer), definitely not watery like other brands Finishes with a slight bitter note. Surprisingly, I’d buy this again.
1.5 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 5/20 Sammy (7045) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - FEB 13, 2010
A very basic beer. Pours pale yellow, with quickly disapearing head. Aroma is marginally cheesy. Light mouthfeel, not burning, but not much above water. Marginally a feather of taste above the typical macros. Managd to drink one mouthfull, and poured the rest.
1.6 AROMA 2/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 7/20 Slacks (615) - Bolton, Ontario, CANADA - FEB 13, 2010
341ml Bottle: Thank you, LCBO singles! You have spared me the shame and discomfort of a 6-pack. Pours absolutely pale yellow, so many bubbles floating up I figured they were trying to escape and took it to be a warning. Giant marshmallow white head with oddly good lacing, not sure how they managed that. Aroma is skunk city, good luck trying to pull any of those other "slow-brewed to perfection" aromas out of this. I will grant that it’s smoother than I anticipated given the level of carbonation, quite biscuity, dry and nondescript. I had it with spicy Mexican food and it did its job, but this is far from a good beer and I will not take my time with it. This warm just screams hell in a bottle.
1.1 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 2/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 2/20 pintbypint (1985) - Edmonton, Alberta, CANADA - JAN 23, 2010
355ml "sleekcan". Poured a pale yellow colour, fast vanishing white head, no lacing. Grain aroma, light grass. Flavour is grainy, some corn notes, trace of vegetal/grass hop. Watery body, lots of carbonation. Not a lot to recommend here, but certainly not the worst I’ve had. If you think Molson 67 and Sleeman Clear are good this might be for you.
0.5 AROMA 1/10 APPEARANCE 1/5 TASTE 1/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 1/20 robinvboyer (2578) - Sturgeon Falls, Ontario, CANADA - JAN 17, 2010
Aroma od cheap grains and cooked veggies. Wow this rivals bud light for tasteless and colorless. Another brutal beer from moosehead. Congrats!
1.6 AROMA 2/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 8/20 DuffMan (5202) - the land of bitumen, beef & beer, Alberta, CANADA - OCT 5, 2009
Sampled at the first annual Medicine Hat Beer Festival. Very pale yellow, rather unpleasant aroma of stinky wet dishrag and grains. Thankfully the palate is cleaner than the nose, but watery and bland in the end. Disappointing.
1.7 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 6/20 jercraigs (6477) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - AUG 25, 2009
2009-09-22. Very pale yellow body with a small white head that fades quickly. Aroma is rough, grainy notes with touch of harsh alcohol or possibly a touch of acetone? Touch of boiled vegetables. Flavour is similar less than palatable, weird grainy notes and boiled vegetables, brief pleasant sweet malt, odd adjunct like finish - corn/vegetal touches. Average to light bodied palate. I am going to assume/hope that the flavour stems from their decision to use green bottles and that the beer wasn’t designed to taste like this fresh from the brewery. Poor. Bottle from LCBO, Toronto
1.8 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20 pootzboy (1451) - Hawgville, Ontario, CANADA - AUG 25, 2009
Bottle: pours a pale gold lager with a small fast disappearing cap, weak lacing. Weak nose: light cereals, grain husk mustiness little else. Weak, not mild, but weak character, watery mouth feel, flavor is weak as well, barely detectable cereals but hops are indefinable, fast clean watery finish.
Perhaps it was unfair throwing this one into a tasting with large beers and fresh micro fare but I don’t think I’m interested enough in this lame offering to give it another try.
