2 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 7/20 jerc (5591) - Toronto, - NOV 21, 2007
Bottle courtesy of tupalev. Pale yellow body with a small white head. Sweet grainy, grassy aroma with muted floral notes I assume to be hops. Sweet grainy flavour has mild vegetal notes at times, but mostly sweet muted grains, hints at cream corn. Overall flavour is on the sweet side. Average to thin palate. Pretty bland and watery. Mostly inoffensive, but why bother?

355ml can. Mild funky lager aroma. Very pale, clear, yellow colour. Small head disappeared instantly, no lace. Taste is thin: sour grain, cardboard box, sticky sweetness. Palate is watery and carbonation is forced and chemical tasting. Overall, worth passing over, despite the price.
1.8 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 8/20 Metalchopz (1429) - Quebec, CANADA - MAR 21, 2012
This light version of the James Ready pours a very pale yellow colour with a big frothy white head that stays longer than expected, and lacing is pretty good. Smell reeks of bad grain, perfume and some citrus lemony aromas that help out the situation. The taste is not as bad, just corn, and quite light. The scent gets a bit better, as it turns to mild corn after a while. Refreshing enough for a light beer, and very inexpensive for a 24-pack (only size it comes). Only meant to drink from the bottle though.

341ml bottle from TBS. pours pale yellow with a quick white head. nose of husky grain, light fusel alcohol. minimal flavour, somewhat cidery. like a 4% malt liquor. amazingly poorly made. gave it 16/20 overall so id show as the highest rater of this trash.

1.9 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 7/20 mabel (4405) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - JAN 5, 2008
[841-20071121] 341mL (w/ jerc). Heather-like hops aroma has wheat, melted plastic and a strange perfume thrown in too. Clear, pale yellow body with a quick white head. Flavour has wheat characteristics, some sweet floral and almost silky chocolate notes. Smooth light body. Like heavily carbonated perfume water.

Bottle courtesy of tupalev. I can now complete my James Ready trifecta, thanks Jeff! Pours a clear pale yellow with a large diminishing white head. Aroma is sugary sweet along with grass, grain and very faint hops. Very mild but for the most part inoffensive. Flavour’s watery and practically flavourless, there’s really no point trying to discern what flavours are there as they are almost non-existant. Nothing foul or harsh at least, I guess that’s something. Really bland, there’s really no reason to drink this unless you really need to drink beer, you don’t really want to taste it and want to pay very little. I guess that’s what some people want?
1.2 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 2/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 4/20 tupalev (2730) - Waterloo, Ontario, CANADA - SEP 30, 2007
This is now my Dad’s go to beer, so I get to rate it! Bottle. Light yellow, decent sized white head that clears quickly. Aroma of grain and grass, but no harsh - hardly really there to be honest. Taste is almost liek water - again not harsh, but so diluted it is hard to tell it is beer. I can see why he has converted from Coors light - it is cheaper, taste less harsh, and well, there isn’t anything else that’s it.
1.5 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 1/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 6/20 lowg (141) - Scarborough, Ontario, CANADA - MAY 24, 2007
Had a couple of bottles of these after helping my bro move his new washer/dryer combo. Wasn’t expecting much and got just that. Little to no flavour but at least it was inoffensive. Not much else to say, really.
1.3 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 2/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 5/20 MrManning (1945) - London, Ontario, CANADA - MAR 18, 2007
Bottle- Another tasteless pale lager recently introduced to the Ontario market, at a buck a beer. My beer store contact managed to get me a couple bottles of this, and boy am I elated. The aroma is faint grass, pepper, maybe some corn, perhaps a hop pellet was used in the brewing process. It’s flavour is really close to coors light. Lots of prickly carbonation to interfere with the fact that the flavours are so masked by shitty corn water and wet paper. A corn lager so genuine, that even MDS will not be able to believe its authenticity.
