Well this beer looks attractive. I drank it and it was pretty strong. Sort of bitter, and I didnít enjoy the aftertaste.

Swish and spitters stay away!!! Yet another beer made for a sunny summer day not a dark room with a spitoon. Sorry people but I just canít take beer tasting so seriously. The hard to get micro brewery stuff is just that for a reason, most people donít want it. Moosehead is sometimes inconsistent but rarely skunky. Fresh and crisp, nice and light, not over the top!!!

Standard lager appearance & aroma (not skunked) average sweetness & bitterness. This would be ok as a domestic but as an import itís a bit silly.

UPDATED: MAY 10, 2004 This was perhaps my favorite beer before I began visiting countries like Belgium and Germany. This is a very impressive and widely distributed Canadian beer which has a crisp taste and is pleasant to drink alone. The only thing that keeps me from rating this beer any higher is the terrible indegestion I receive after drinking it. No other beer, and I mean NO other beer leaves me with acid reflux like Moosehead which is really strange. Otherwise, based upon availability, this is one of the top beers out there in my opinion.

Not impressed at all by moosehead. Of the last time i remember drinking this, the skunky smell and watery taste come to mind. And of what alcohol was in the bottle, tasted rank! Avoid this is you value your liver.

2.3 AROMA 2/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
Very pale yellow with a skunky, metallic aroma. Very little body. Very little anything. Clean taste and a little sweet, but no great shakes.

2 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 5/20
Sweet and hoppy but rubbery aroma. Pale amber with foamy white head. Fizzy with light-medium body. Sweetish taste, hops, weak, adjuncty. Not very bitter. Ok lager, but nothing special.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
UPDATED: NOV 8, 2003 Had this on draught in DeKalb Illinois. This can be had for dirt cheap, and it is very good stuff. Highly drinkable, with hints of grapefruit or something. On tap it is far better than bottles.
