I picked up a 6-pack of this one evening when nothing else was available; quite possibly the biggest mistake of my drinking career. We labeled this beverage ’moose piss’ and have not drunken it since.

2.6 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
UPDATED: OCT 2, 2006 OK for when you want something with a lighter taste. Actually better drinking out of the bottle. Heavily carbonated.

One of my favorites. A nice smooth drink. The aftertaste is not unpleasant and the carbonation is mild.

The ’Commercial deScription’ hits it right on the nose. One of the better Canadian ’style’ beers. Nothing special, but always nice.
RE-RATE: Hadn’t had a ’Moosie’ in a while, and picked some up today - my opinion is unchanged.
One of the better Canadian style beers. Better than *any* American macro-swill.

3.2 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Re-Rate: It’s nice to come back to an old favorite after some extensive sampling...very amusing... This brew pours a clear light golden. The large creamy white head is mostly lasting with fair lacing. The crisp nose is mostly malty before it breaths - toasted cereal, and light caramel then becomes very hoppy - perfume, grass, resin. Some earthiness and leather are present from the yeast, and I detected a light pepper quality also. The taste is above average with slightly unbalanced sweetness, a bit earthy from the yeast and has a average to long nutty light bitter finish. The palate is very strong for an Am Standard with a creamy thin body, soft carbonation and a light astringent feel to the finish. Very good for an Am Standard. I can see why I thought so highly of it when I had only been previously exposed to the all the common Macro Shite. *Original Rate - 2/24/02* This is my current beer of choice. Very decent beer for the price. I can’t imagine this on tap...maybe someday I’ll get lucky.

There are some great beers made in Canada, and this isn’t one of them. Stinky, watery, fizzy, soapy, but I’ve tasted worse.

Fairly flavorful example of a Canadian mass lager; a ’guilty pleasure’ of mine.
