Kevin (after a few Moosehead): "You know, some people actually like this stuff." Well, many moons later, I’m looking at the same light gold liquid with a medium head and skunky hops aromas. Flavor is hops skunk up front that fizzles into an adjunct dominated finish. I’d imagine that Kevin was right... but dang! Who? MiP (9025), Sønderborg, Denmark

| 1.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 3/10 | 2/5 | 3/10 | 1/5 | 5/20 | Aug 27, 2008 So I picked up a bottle of this because from my understanding this was my grandfather’s favorite beer, and my earliest memory of beer memorabilia was when he died (I was 16), I obtained stack of Moosehead Beer coasters which I still have. This doesn’t improve the quality of this beer, but it does justify why I grabbed this off the shelf at Fred Meyer... that novelty factor.
Poured pale golden with a thick white head. Aroma is musty with strong cracker malt and a bitter pine-sole presence. Way too much carbonation, kind of burns a little on the palate. I like beers that are aggressive on the palate, but this is so unbalanced that it doesn’t work. Flavor is overall absent with a bit of lemon/citrus hops and a tonic water-like finish. sleestak (183), Williamston, Michigan, USA
| 1.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 1/10 | 2/5 | 4/10 | 3/5 | 7/20 | Aug 21, 2008 Poured pee gold with little head. Aroma was predominantly sulfur compounds and other remnants of death and decay. Taste was akin to lawn mower clippings bathed in pond water. Grassy and malty in only the sickliest way. Nearly undrinkable. The extent to which I love our neighbors to the north is the inverse of my feelings toward this horrid, skanky, fetid beer.
