Really good bitter vs sweet balance Saarlander (1577), Rancho Cucamonga, California, USA

Friends who drink macro swill will drink this too, so at least I get a little better of a beer. HulkamaniacUM (43), Oxford, Mississippi, USA

Decent body...not quite as robust as I would’ve liked, and not quite as much bite as I like out of a lager. A little watery, but not a bad beer. I’d drink it again. Pale yellow with a medium white foamy head. Aroma is grainy and light.
Flavour is thin and slightly buttery, with some bitterness in the finish.
An unoffensive easy drinking lager. brufrog (15), New Brunswick, Canada

Does well in comparison to Canadian and Blue, due to slightlly higher hop biitterness and flavour, but is not, as marketed in the US and Ontario, a premium lager. It is a "good old" Canadian lager. Aroma is lightly skunky with a bit of corn aroma. Flavor is a bit hoppy initially but finishes with an off sweet corn funkiness. Ugh. yayforbeer (647), Orange Park, Florida, USA

Not quite as watery as other cheap lagers, and a bit more hop character than the others. I remember this being a favorite back when there really wasn’t much other than Bud, Busch, and PBR. Those times are long past, and though it’s still a drinkable brew, it’s far below anything I consider a favorite now. beerkoz (8), West Palm Beach, Florida, USA does not count | 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Mar 23, 2006 Coming from Western New York - on the border of Ft. Erie Ontario Canada - I KNOW Canadian beer. The flavor of Moosehead *IS* Canadian. I now live in West Palm Beach Florida and one of my local supermarkets surprisingly carries this fine Canadian beer at 9.99 for a 12-pack of bottles - SWEET MAMA !! That taste is back home. The pour is crisp - the head is minimal - the taste is CANADIAN!! For all of you mega-brew haters, tough. This is one classic Canadian brew that will always bring my northern tastebuds alive. CHEERS!
