I felt ridiculous in the frilly pink pants that I had so hastily slipped into in the back of the warm changing room of the Fantastica Fair of 2003. Coming out from behind the sheet, I twirled the chains above my head as they found equilibrium in an even plain, steadily dipping and rising in a predictable fashion. The crowd roared and jumped to their feet. I was on top of the world. Later that night, as I was packing my chains into the silver case they belonged in, an old man slowly approached me. "Excuse me Scott", said the man, lowering his head while he spoke, an outward sign of his nervousness. "What is it you deviant whore?" I replied standing up while the remaining chains slid off of my knee into a clump on the ground. The man slowly raised his eyes to meet mine and I worried he could see through my facade, perhaps know my darkest most well kept secrets and in a flash he would burst out laughing, running around telling everyone how pathetic I was. He put his hand into a beige bag he had lowered from his shoulder and I tensed up. My sword was on the other side of the room, the only other weapon I had to defend myself would be hanging sheepishly between my legs had it not been removed for gangrene had taken its toll on the pink monster. I closed my eyes waiting for this elderly manís wrath, but instead heard his soft voice reach out to me, "here, take this... itís a gift from New Brunswick". I slowly opened my eyes to see a green bottle in his hand as he smiled cautiously. I did a backflip backwords smashing the carosene lamp which burned on my desk, jumping in the air and somersaulting towards my sword. I turned to see the man with a confused look on his face, lowering the green bottle of Moosehead, opening his mouth and saying "I just want to give you this" as he spoke he raised the bottle again and I hopped onto a chair jumped and lunged at him through the air swinging my sword and cutting his arm clean off above the elbow. The Moosehead bottle seemed to hang in the air for an instant as I grabbed it. A quick silence admist the growing roar of the fire now spreading from my desk and onto the canvas of the tent, and then the poor man screamed so loud I had wondered if perhaps I was in the wrong. No doubt. I walked out of the tent just as it exploded, with the man stuck inside and twisted the cap of the beer. The beer smelt a bit skunky which played delightfully with my repressed skunk fetish. I brought the green shaft up to my mouth and sucked back that sweet juice, which indeed, was sweet. The carbonation was so playful with my tongue and it fizzed while the bitter kick of hops came in. A perfect beer. I sat down and cried, when the beer was all gone, knowing I should have asked the man where it was from before he had killed himself before my eyes. I studied the label and the maple leaf and fell back looking upwards to the stars, knowing where I needed to go next. I would need to travel back to the future, for this beer had not yet been invented. My name is Scott Purchase and I recommend this beer.

When it comes to beer priced at average levels, I skip the Buds and such and go for Canadian macros. They are cleaner tasting, refreshing and frankly, the hangover is less "sticky".
Moosehead is an example of a good Canadian macro. The only American macro I bother with is PBR, due to the cheap price while being better than regular priced American macros. If the standard priced US macros mimicked Canadian style, Iíd be more apt to spend my dollars in the States. Címon Coors, you can remove the skunk from the vat!
Moosehead isnít first rate, but its a great way to teach those who drink the watery American brews to find pleasure in something finer.

1.8 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 2/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 6/20
Serving: 12 oz. bottle from Total Wine Sterling. It pours a light gold color with a decent white head. Slightly skunky nose. Almost euro lager like. A little sweet on the palate with a bit of grain and a slight bitterness. Finishes pretty clean. Canít see why I used to drink a bunch of these back in the day.

12 oz. bottle. I donít know what unseen forces coerced me to try this after not rating it for so long, but here goes. Pours a clear golden color with a small white head. The aroma and flavor are not good; grainy, cereal, grassy with some skunky notes. Lighter bodied and a bit watery.
