A smooth clean-tasting lager that offers a good balance between malt sweetness and hop bitterness

UPDATED: SEP 24, 2014 Bottle: What to say about this one that hasn’t already been said? Pale straw-yellow body, bone-white "head" that’s gone almost instantly. Huge skunky aroma, dusty grain, stale hops... Mostly skunk, though. Taste has notes of metal, old hops, dry grain, skunk, DMS, & mineral water. Overly prickly carbonation. Not a good beer, but I don’t really need to tell you that, do I?

Hockey beer: moderately corny aroma and flavors with grassy and grainy notes. Very faint if any hop character. It is what it is.

Pallid yellow with a small white head. Stereotypical corn, metallic, honey, and grass pale lager aroma. A slightly fuller body than expected. Tastes as it smells with some hop in the finish. Not overly fond of the metallic aftertaste.

Not my favorite. Light and easy but not a huge fan. Nothing special about it.

East to drink from a bottle. Light grain mild hops and a grassy taste. Crisp yet underwhelming with light carbonation. I can imagine drinking a few of these at a bbq. I wouldn’t seek this one out.

Medium white head. Clear paleish yellow body with carbonation. Fruity floral perfumy aroma with sulphury notes. Sweetish perfumy floral taste with papery notes. Mid-bodied. Mild, soft mouthfeel. Dryish jasmine tea and flowers aftertaste with perfumy salty notes. Like perfumed jasmine tea mixed with real beer. Not bad, but certainly no pleasure, either. (0.35l bottle, from Vinbudin Kringlan.)

Usually have a soft spot for macro lagers that its just a snobby avoidance. Looks right gold transparent thin head. This is a smart avoidance though. Skunky, seems euro-fare based. Harsh grainy character. Eh

AgentAle (988) - Alberta, CANADA - MAR 29, 2015
Aroma is basic malts, a bland hop profile with light sulphur notes. Taste is again bland malts with corn and rice adjunct. Dry basic bitterness on finish. Appearance is a clear gold with a thin pearl head that retains poorly.

UPDATED: MAY 10, 2015 Aroma like cheap champagne or cereal--sometimes skunky. Appearance is a clear pale gold like apple juice with minimal fizzy head that appears for a nanosecond and then is gone. Light sweetness but indistinct. Thin, carbonated mouth feel with abrupt finish. A highly drinkable beer perfect really cold when it is very hot such as picnics or barbeques etc. A step up from American lagers. Time was this was the "good" beer. How far we’ve come...
