2 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 7/20
350ml bottle from the Romsey Beer Emporium. A paleish corn pour with a billowing white head; sweet cereal grain aroma with a touch of grassy hops; sweet corn syrup taste; with nothing in the way fo bitterness; and a rasping metallic finish. I had good memories of this from trips to Canada some years ago - but they are now shattered.

2.3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 7/20
Bottle. Clear, golden yellow color, small extremely fast diminishing white head. Aroma is somewhat resin, soapy sweet, candy. Taste is sweet in the beginning, lightly bitter to the end, somewhat light sour. Typical malty soapy aftertaste for this kind of beer. Thin texture, average fresh carbonation.
It´s just like the Canadians, gentle and polite. ;-)

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
I am getting more and more used to this type of international lager and it is a style that is appealing if the nuances of beer are to be left aside. Not a bad beer in this category, the aftertaste even has some voom to it.

2 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 7/20
UPDATED: JAN 5, 2015 ENG: Yellow-goldish and clear in color with little bit of light tan head. Aroma is soury but balanced, a bit malty. Taste is poor with little hop. Maybe just a bit better than commercial beers like Budweiser or Molson (etc). ///~~~???~~~/// ///~~~???~~~/// ///~~~???~~~/// ///~~~???~~~/// PL: Kolor żółto-złoty, klarowny, piana jasna, niewielka. Aromaty zbalansowane, lekko kwaśne i słodkie. W smaku dość ubogie, może delikatnie chmielowe. Nieco lepsze niż koncerniaki typu Budweiser czy Molson, ale bez szału.

Draft poured into a twenty ounce Moosehead glass. A yellowish, golden color with white head that dissipates quickly. A good alternative to Coors, Miller, orBud.

1.7 AROMA 2/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 9/20
341ml bottle served in weizen glass right out of the fridge:
Here is a lager found quite easily in Québec. It’s mostly found sold in bottle format and I never saw a bar or brew offering it on draft. I first encountered this beer in 2005 when I worked in the bar industry.
Well then, you get a clear stray coloured robe with lots of micro carbs topped by not more than a finger of white foam. The head shrinks at a fair speed to leave nothing but a fractured layer. I did spot some rough dotted lacing but it doesn’t stay.
The nose is at first sweet and hoppy but soapy features are also present and do come through.
On the tongue, this lager is sweet, malty and finishes with grassy hops. It has a good density so it does win some points there if you ask me. I don’t really like sweet and watery lagers, so when it at least has body, that’s close enough. It’s also just a bit sharp and it leaves a cauliflower aftertaste you might not be looking forward to.

2 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 9/20
355 ml can from a 15-pack from Liquor Depot, served in an undimpled mug. Pours light golden yellow with fine, very active carbonation and a head of large white bubbles that soon settle to reveal a little lace filigree. Aroma is moderately corny and grainy, with the familiar citrus of a light lager. Flavor is mildly sour and generally malty. The carbonation continues throughout, assuredly leading to heavy gassiness. The mouthfeel is a bit more substantial than expected, and the astringency lingers a few seconds too long. Uninspired, and with hints of unpleasantness, this lager straddles the area between below average and not recommended, a sad assessment to make about "Canada’s Oldest Independent Brewery".

2.5 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
Bottle. Generic cheap lager skewing towards the sweet end of the spectrum. Pretty clean and drinkable so not terrible for what it is.

1.2 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 1/5 TASTE 2/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 4/20
Pale gold with a white crisy head. Smells of pale malt and hops. Crisp thin body. Tastes of basically nothing, with grain and soft hops. Boring pale lager.
