HogTownHarry (3141), Toronto (Harbourfront), Ontario, Canada Aug 19, 2005 Updated: Sep 21, 2005 Bottle (341ml - green). Shared with blankboy, GregClow and tupalev - my bottle. MY 250th RATING - joy. Poured pale gold with a thin head. Aroma? - skunk, my friends - muskrat, swamp cabbage SKUNK. Just when we thought the bottle was "ruined", the flavour was not skunky - it’s supposed to smell like that? Flavour of light corn malt, icing sugar, sour damp grass clippings - starts annoyingly sweet, finishes slightly bitter, harsh on warming. Mouthfeel - pretty much nothing; water. Best thing I can say is that it doesn’t taste as bad as it smells - gotta literally hold your breath when you quaff.
Skyview (2657), Papoose Jct., Minnesota, USA May 26, 2008 Sampled at BDR’s tasting and shared by the guys at Cellar’s Wine & Spirits. Pours a clear golden straw blonde brew with lots of carbonation bubbles and a fast dissolving white head that dissipates clean. Aroma of corn grits, crystal malts, a touch of citrus zest and grassy hops. Taste is light bodied, slightly metallic and gritty with a light bread and lemon zest flavor. Finish is light , crisp, clean cut with no aftertaste. A typical college caliper beer swill. dkazuk (220), winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada May 20, 2008 341ml. bottle
Quite pale yellow with a white head that bubbles away pretty quickly. Metallic, corny, dust smell. Similar Flavour. Nothing too good here. ratman197 (2190), Arvada, Colorado, USA May 15, 2008 Green bottle poured a clear pale yellow with a lingering ring of white foam. Aromas of skunk and white bread. Palate was light bvodied and crisp. Flavors of bread, light skunk and a hint of citrus with a crisp clean finish. JK (2369), Twin Cities, Minnesota, USA Apr 27, 2008 A green bottle and a huge skunk aroma. They should know better. OK flavor, only light malt. BDR (1850), Roseville, Minnesota, USA Apr 27, 2008 Pale straw color. Skunky aroma. A light grainy aroma, characteristic of a lager. Surprisingly drinkable, despite the aroma.
