3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
On draught at the Moosejaw brewpub in Wisconsin Dells, Wisconsin. Pours a clear dark brown colored brew with a creamy beige head that has some excellent retention and great lacing. Aroma of both chocolate malt, caramel, some roasted nuts, floral hops and a touch of bread dough. taste is medium to full bodied, honey detected more in flavor than aroma with additional flavors of roasted dark malt, roasted nuts and some chocolate. Finish is semi-sweet, some mild alcohol potency with a short lived bitterness followed by a sweet roasted dark malt aftertaste. One of the sweetest nut brown ales I’ve tried.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
On tap at the brewpub. Slightly murky brown with tints of red. Large off-white head is mostly diminishing. Caramel and toffee nose is a little faint, with a slight sour bite underneath a moderate roast. Moderately sweet, mildly toasty flavor. Nutty? Perhaps. Absolutely astounded this is 8.4% - no alcoholic notes at all. It would be easy to tip back a few of these and get into some trouble!
