This medium-bodied amber ale has a pleasant hop flavor & aroma. Locally grown hops are harvested from Brownie Zinke's Hop Farm & are used to create this one-of-a-kind ale.

On tap at brewpub. Pours light orangeish amber with tan head. Aroma is light hops and caramel malt. Flavor is nice balance between hops and malt with some caramel. This is a pale ale and not an IPA. Not a bad pale ale though.

On tap at the brewery, sampler flight. Holds its head the longest. Dark copper in color with an almost non-existent hop nose. Both hoppy and malty at once, not a bad pale ale.

On tap at the brewpub on 6/22/07: Clear orange amber color pour has a full wispy lacing off-white head. Aroma of some piny, almost soapy hops with a touch of caramel malt. Body starts with some sugary caramel and earthy, sopay bitter hop balance before a watery finish. Pretty bland overall.

On tap at the brewpub in Wisconsin Dells, pours a clear copper brown brew with an average size off white head. Good lacing. Aroma of piney hops, caramel, some citrus peel, toffee, and multi-grain malt. Taste is medium body, lightly carbonated, smooth and a good hop bitter aftertaste. More like an extra pale ale than an IPA. Finish is smooth and a little dry.

Dark amber color. Smell of malt, hops, citrus, caramel and grass. Taste of some grass, pine, earth, hops, little citrus, bitterness, caramel, flowers and a touch of honey. Nice IPA.

On-tap @ the Brewpub. Amber color. The fresh hop aroma you get right off the bat is great, and I was told all the hops used are locally grown...nice. A solid use of caramel malts, but the hops take over from there and lead to a great, smooth brew that is certainly hop-driven. I asked the bartender if there were any plans to bottle their beers in the near future, and he actually said they are planning to bottle the Kilbourn Hop Ale soon. Assuming thatís done, itíll start very local for sure, but itíd be nice to see this one out in stores for more people to try. Overall impression..this is a very good, hoppy pale ale. You canít stop at this place and not try this one.

(Tap) Pours amber with tan head. Great balance, in my opinion. Iím not a big IPA fan, but this brew was refreshing and very drinkable. Would definitely drink again.

Tap @ brewery. Good floral and pine aromas. Deep amber body with off white head. Medium bodied hop bite and bitterness. Cool and crisp on the palate. A good refreshing brew.

First off - this is NOT an IPA - Iíd call it a brown ale, the brewery calls it an amber. This one one of the best I had of six. Nice head that laced well. Nutty and a bit bitter. The local hops taste English to my palate. A hoppy brown, but too malty for an IPA.
