Served under the name "rustic red" Off copper color, thin white head. Avg palate. Rich caramel flavor, quite sweet a bit of maple syrup in the finish. Very one dimensional and the sweet is a bit much, but not too bad. The aroma was really missing again on their beer, very light and grainy with some hints of caramel.

On tap at Moosejaw brewpub as Rustic Red. Dark copper with a thin off-white head. Aroma of toffee, mild fruit and Munich malts. Taste is malty with no real hop presence. Toffee, fruit and a touch of corn round out the bill.

Scubatrip (605) - Annandale, Virginia, USA - AUG 24, 2010
On tap at the brewpub, pours a clear red with an ok off-white foamy head. Musky taste - malts, tree root, bark at first, then caramel, apple, sweet toffee with an even balanced finish. Actually not a bad beer.

Ughsmash (7276) - Pewaukee, Wisconsin, USA - AUG 13, 2010
On tap at Moosejaw. Poured medium iced tea brown with very little head. The aroma was soft with fruits, honey, and molasses leading.. some berries on the back. The flavor found sweet berries and other fruits along with molasses and caramel.. light fruity bitterness surrounded.. odd for an amber. Light-medium bodied with almost no perceptible carbonation on the palate.. not so good.

Somewhat think palate on this one. No aroma at all, with a grassy flavor with a mild hop presence.
