On-tap @ the Brewpub. Light brown color with orange highlights. Aroma is mostly toffee malts and some subtle fruits as well. In addition to the toffee/caramel flavor is a subtle fruit aspect which didn’t really do anything for me. The lack of any hop flavor is a bit disappointing, and leads to it being a bit too sweet for my taste, but the caramel malts are still tasty. Not one of the best beers from this brewpub.

Tap. Pours reddish Amber, nearly no head or lacing. Aroma is malty, caramel, toasty. Flavor is medium sweet, light bitter, roasty, caramel, , a bit metallic in its very light bitterness. Medium body, like carbonation.

Bottle: Slightly hazed, red-brown with a minimal off-white head. Caramel, cinnamon aroma. Taste is sweet, a little lactic, caramel malt....nutmeg....a little toasty. Reminded me of a really light winter ale.... OK.

Bottle from Mousehouse Cheesehouse. Amber pour with a frothy off-white head. Quite malty. Bit of caramel, earth, maybe a bit dusty. Not great.

On tap at restaurant and brewery, pours a clear dark amberish red with an off white head, the aroma is more sweet than hoppy with a good amount of caramel and malt, the flavor is much of the same, more malt and sweetness than hops, not bad I suppose.

10 Point Sampler 6/25/14 (Moosejaw)-Pours amber with a small head. Aroma of caramel, malt, and slight toffee. Taste of the same. This light to medium bodied brew was just another amber.

Very smooth flavor at first. Palate becomes bitter after several sips. Overall decent ale.

Reviewed from notes. Consumed last summer as I was traveling through Wisconsin Dells. The appearance is a red/amber colored body, less than a film of a white head. Some carbonation is seen rising. The smell has some caramel malts up front, light nuttiness. The taste is mainly sweet throughout, not much balance, caramel aftertaste and a dry finish. The palate is a light to medium, somewhat sessionable, and adequately carbonated for the style and for me. Overall, there is nothing bad about this beer, but there is nothing spectacular about it either, still its not bad with food.

An average red beer at best. Pretty bitter with a dry finish. Not very hoppy and pours red in color. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
