"A fruity amber beer with more than a hint of hops. The bitterness carries on in the aftertaste. A superb session beer."

Half, cask in perfect condition and served at the right drinking temperature at the Halfway House - a gem of a small pub in central Edinburgh. Copper-amber body. No head, but nice lacework on the glass. Floral fruity smell. Fruity taste with dry apricot and developing bitterness to the ending. Rounded and refreshing. 24.10.2008.

Cask on handpump at local club. Light golden with white head. Excellent clean crystral clear, hoppy bitter but a not citrus bitterness. Very pleasant on a hot summers day.

Cask at Charlie’s Bar, Copenhagen. A slightly hazy golden beer with a thin beige head. The aroma is sweet malty with flowery notes of hops. The flavor is sweet malty again with flowery notes of hops as well as light notes of elderberries, leading to a bitter finish. The body is thin. Quite refreshing - nice session beer.

cask at starbank edinburgh ... golden orange ... sweet hop ... good balance ... lots of light fresh hop character ... little grapefruit ... good clean linger.

Cask at ’Spoons, Milton Keynes. Gold with a white head. Sulphurous nose. Biscuity malt taste with some light bitterness to finish. Not very exciting at all. Rather against the grain, I’ve rated three previous Mordue beers at 4.0, 3.7 and 3.7. This, in my opinion, is by far the poorest.

A Mes rate: Cask at Victoria Station JDW. Tastes like cold tea to me. Notes of fresh hops that are almost sweet, yes I know it’s an oxymoron but whatever. Reasonable bitter finish. Unpleasant off character in the aroma.

Cask Conditioned @ Standing Order (JDW), Soton. Very light malt, hops quite vague which leaves the slight sulphurous yeast the main focus. Fairly dry and moderately refreshing but the yeast is present throughout.

Cask handpull at Wetherspoon’s Folkestone. Slight haze with a copper colour and a bubbly beige head. Quite a lovely hop aroma, bit of malty fruit. Malt is a little syrupy in mouth. Palate is odd. Bit medicinal. Finish has goodish hop, drying. Shame, as I like Mordue beers, but th malt isn’t right on this and the hop is too drying on the end to be balanced.

Draught. Small white head. Clear golden body. Roasted malt aroma. Very light and easy to drink. Too ananomous with insuffiicient bitterness. A disapointment.
