Fin (2179), Merton, Oxfordshire, England Apr 24, 2006 Cask Conditioned at Banbury Beer Festival Fri 21-04-06. You have stolen my thunder Glenn, for me the beer of the festival was a straight fight between this and Bazans Flatbac but this gets the nod. I was’nt particularly expecting anything of this I had gone for another beer which had run out, so I made I jabbed my finger at the nearest cask and thank heavens I did. it was simply stunning and when I took it back the other three members of my group all made it their next beer, it soon ran out! A light golden beer, citrusy, hoppy, I really liked the hoppy taste which was extremely well balanced with a lovely just right sweetness and lovely everlasting finish, kept superbly by the Banbury Beer Festival organisers as were all the beers, all that I had were in tip top condition. I am often a bit stingy with my marks, but after 270 + ratings this is the new king!!
bobinlondon (215), Harrow, Greater London, England Jul 16, 2008 Handpulled cask at the Southern Cross, Watford in Dec 07. Light gold with a thick white lacy head. Aromas are lemon, kiwi and apricot with fresh clean hops. Sweet and fruity. Flavours are equally fruity with juicyl malts and fruity resinous hops. A superb beer by any standards. thewolf (3608), Kolding, Denmark Jan 7, 2008 Cask @ The Wharf, Aalborg. Pours a clear pale yellow-golden with a small foamy white head that stays throughout. Aroma is lightly hoppy with flowers, grapefruit, citrus dominating. Low carbonation, but nice on the palate. Hoppy flavour with good dry bitter with tones of pine, grass and light citric. hughie (2195), Bedford, Bedfordshire, England Dec 4, 2007 Cask at Wellington Arms, Bedford. Gold with a small white head. Sweet hop aroma. Taste is very sweet and spicy wth a sharp bitter finish. Good beer from a good brewery. berkshire_john (1048), Bracknell, Berkshire, England Oct 5, 2007 Cask at the Guildhall, Folkestone. Gold with a loose white head; leafy hop aroma; sharp hop taste, butterscotch; a powerful bitter finish. Rastacouere (5270), Montréal, Quebec, Canada Sep 30, 2007 A large white foam covers the clear light golden body. A well-balanced, surprisingly sweet ale with almost biscuity malt overtones toppered by generous, blasting and stylish floral, citrusy hops that cuts through the sweetness and procure a fair dry bitterness.
