harrisoni (5109), Ashford, Kent, England Apr 26, 2008 Cask handpull at The Ship & Mitre pub beer festival, Liverpool. One of the Charlton’s on the pump clip by the looks of it. Copper, lasting thin beige head. Slightly fruity session bitter. Fine. It’s a bitter. If I had one criticism of this excellent festival is that there are too many 3.6-4.5% bitters/golden ales.
DruncanVeasey (1612), Burbage, Leicestershire, England Apr 25, 2008 Updated: Apr 28, 2008Cask, The Bull at Witherly. Straw halves slicked with white. Oakham soapy zest and floral USA hop aroma. Clean, perfumey, pale and shining. Dense, orangey/nettley hop with biscuity pale malt balance. Tasted just as good several beers later. Superb.
