COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
With a strong hop character, our version of a classic, Bohemian Pilsner is right on the mark. You'll find rich maltyness in the finish as well as a crisp palate.

It poured a rich golden color with a small white head. The aroma was a little spicy with some maltiness. The taste was of malt with some spiciness and a decent finish.

Hazy yellow pour with a white head. It has a light grain aroma, thin body, and lively carbonation. The taste is mildly sweet with light fruit.

Average all the way. Poured a clear yellow color with a tiny white head. Corn, malts and grass in the aroma. Flavor was crisp malts, corn and metallic flavors. Very thin and watery body. Not a whole lot to this beer.

Draft at the brewpub. Pours a clear light yellow color with a small white head that fades quickly with little remnants. Aroma of corn, straw, grassy hops, and a little malt. Flavor mainly corn and a little hops, a bit of butterscotch too. Kind of a grainy texture, a bit tinny in flavor too. Nothing special.

Draft in a sampler at the brewpub. Pours a clear yellow-golden color with a small white head that leaves some lacing in the glass. Aroma of pale and sweet malts, straw, grassy hops, and cereal grains. Flavor follows suit pretty closely. Light-medium bodied, with a malty, fresh, grainy mouthfeel and medium carbonation. Nice pilsner and drinks pretty easily- feels just right for the style.

This was the best option at Morgan Street which is not really saying much. Perhaps it was because of the other beers that I tried that evening which bumped the score up but even this was only so-so. Of course it is much easier to make a watery pils seem run of the mill than other styles that are actually meant to have some depth. If I were dying of thirst I might try this. Otherwise I would look for water.

Aroma / Appearance - Carbonated golden bubbles floated to the surface in a steady stream of activity. Sweet after dinner breath mints and honeycomb stood out unlike the feeble hops which must have been embarrassed by the company they had to keep.

Flavor / Palate - The taste was a reasonable facsimile of a pilsner. Unlike the others it was nearly spot on. Thin in the mouthfeel the main tastes were a combination of old hops and mellow malts. It does actually have some finish instead of fading like a choke artist down the stretch. Regardless I would not come back here for a single beer that might be the best option in the Landing.

Sampled at the 2009 Parkville microbrew festival. Pours yellow with a medium white head. Has lots of bread dough to the aroma. Has a mild flavor but is not full of pils grains or character that it should have. A tinge of buttery diacetyl is detectable.

[tap] Watery finish which seems to be the trademark for most of the beers here. Aroma is flowery, pours a yellow/gold. Overall not a bad beer, but not a great beer.
