3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Draft taster at the brewpub. Dark brown with small eggshell head. Roasted and caramel malt, nuts, hops. Nothing special, but I did find it flavorful and enjoyable. Perhaps just in comparison to the other tasters in the flight, though.

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
This deserves a better rating than it has. Not traditional in that it has a lot more hops than usual, but it only adds to the appeal. Tried at the brewery in 2014.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Taster on tap at the brewery. Clear dark red color. Thin khaki head, leaves good thicker lace. Great chocolate, nutty aroma up front. Medium-plus body, big and full for the ABV. Smooth, lighter carbonation. More dry finish. Nice flavor again, like hazelnut or marzipan or something. Moderate bitter taste, light sweet. Tasty brown ale!
