3.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 10/20
Aroma of caramel, nuts, chocolate and light floral presence. Appearance is amber/brown with sticky tan head. Flavor matches the nose, except that the flavor seems to quickly move to the finish, which is dry. Palate is medium, tacky and very soft. Could have used a little more endurance in the flavor.

Tap. Pours clear brown with average, creamy off-white head; short retention and spare lacing. Aroma is heavy caramel malt, hazelnut, floral hops, figs, dates, and light toast. Flavor is sweet malt forward with supporting dark fruit esters and some light earthy notes; sweet finish. Light body, low carbonation, and low warmth.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
DraftÖ Clear, deep, dark copper ale with a mid-sized, creamy, off-white head. Fantastic retention. The restrained bouquet is quite nutty without much else going on. Medium-bodied and lightly creamy with soft carbonation. The roasty flavor leans a smidge toward the bitter side, but is smooth and well-balanced overall. A bit nutty and a touch thin. Finishes crisp and very mildly bitter. A little too crisp and refreshing for the style. Personally, I like a little meat on my brown aleís bones.

2.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20
Served on draft at the brewpub. Pours a dark brown color with a large creamy tan head. Good head retention and lacing. Aroma of caramel, toasted malts, nuts and a faintly hoppy finish. The taste is very tart with notes of berries, citrus and nutty notes. Medium bodied. Seems like something might be wrong with this one.
