3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20
Taster on tap at the brewery. Labeled on the chalkboard as 5.6%, 31 IBU. Black color. Thin ring of khaki head, leaves decent ridges of lace. Good roast malt, coffee aromas. Medium body, smooth kind of crisp lighter carbonation. Good chewiness to the texture. Sort of dry finish. Moderate bitter taste, light sweet, lightly spicy. Hint of metallic in the flavor. Solid, flavorful irish stout.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Sample at B&D gastropub. Pour black with small beige head. Aroma is medium roasty, thick/medium body, medium carbonation, and medium small bubble lacing. Taste is robust roasty, light herbal hops and dry finish. Is this the second best WV has to offer I would say no, but may be it should be in the top ten.

3.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 12/20
Sampled at GABF 2013. Black pour with a tan head. Smoky malt aroma with roasted coffee. Weak coffee flavor with muted smoke. Mouthfeel is thin and a bit watery. Had promise, and is not a bad beer, but it did not live up to the aroma.

3.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
Aroma of moderate coffee, roasty malts, dark chocolate and a touch of smoke. Appearance is black with foamy mocha head. Flavor is roast/coffee dominant that comes off as somewhat astringent; the finish is dry. Palate is light, creamy and average. Just alright for me.
