Bottle: Orangey-golden coloured, cloudy, floaties visible; moderate to solid sourish-sweetish nose: wood, leather, apricots or peaches; moderate dryish sourish-bitter flavour, light to medium bodied, tart MF; tart - as well - and sourish finish. Good.....

37.5cl bottle at Herberg Moriau, Vintage 2009. This was a very easy drinking Geuze nearly a session geuze. Its made by Boon and its easy to tell that its not his best blend but its still a great beer in its own right. Light zesty, thirst quenching and a pleasing if gentle amount of acidity and funk. While I was drinking this I got talking to the owner of the cafe who was very interesting. Ive got a bottle of the Original Geuze in the cellar from 1991 so I cant wait to open that!

bottle @ café ’la brocante’, Brussels, light white colour with no head. Acid smell, a lot of sourness. Grapefruits, rhubarb, lemon. One of the more ’easy drinking’ geuze, but still a very nice one!

Boutip (3294) - Gatineau, Quebec, CANADA - AUG 18, 2011
Bottle: Poured a hazy slightly dirty orangey color lambic with a nice foamy head with good retention and some light lacing. Aroma of light green apple with some light barnyard notes and some light tartness. Taste is easily drinkable with notes of green pale and light acidity with some tartness and very light oak notes. Acidity and barnyard notes are well balanced and not at any important level. Body is quite full with good carbonation. Well made with great drinkability factor thought not as much character as some of the heavy-hitter.

Bottle via a trade with a best before of 03-12-29. Pours with a massive, foamy white head that slowly fades to a small cap over a clearish (first pour) golden hue. Aromas are strong. Floral, white wine, musty, horsey, cobwebs, a bit of spicy wood, earthy, lemony acidity and a bit bready. Flavors are not super acidic, but the funk is strong. Some light acid on the finish. Complex funk showcasing horsey notes, musty. Decently strong tannic bitterness (very strong for a gueuze). Decently balanced overall. Medium to lively bubbles. Thin body, tannic and dry.

Bottle. Pours cloudy orange. Heavily carbonated white head. Nose and taste of funky lemon, wild yeast and old buttery wood. Taste is a bit lacking and overly carbonated. A bit spicy at times. Mild tartness. Dry finish.

gEUS (113) - Linden, BELGIUM - JUL 2, 2011
I give it this score because it was a non-labelled bottle of 1980 and the taste as well as the looks were amazing. When pouring the beer, it seemed that it was not a 31 year old beer! Massive head, golden colour. Only the nose revealed ome oxydation, but the taste was still fresh & acid, like a real gueuze should be. The undertone was more bitter and earthy, which indicated the age of the bottle. Stunning how gueuze conserves this well!!!

18/06/2011 37.5cl bottle @ Bierhuis a/d Waterkant (Gent) - BB: 3/3/2029 (2011-266)

Clear golden to light orange beer, yellowish big aery head (big bubbles), bit stable, falls down to a thin but creamy layer. Aroma: basement, mold, apple skin. A bit dirty, and not just geuze dirty. MF: good carbon, medium body. Taste: lemon zest, rotten fruity, pretty bitter, moldy (cotton dryness). Aftertaste: more surprising bitterness, basement and lemon. Definitely not my favorite geuze.
