Bottle at home. Clear amber pour, thin foamy off-white head. Aroma of grainy malts, some caramel, a hint of licorice, slightly spicy and a bit murky. Flavor is slightly bitter, quite watery and slightly spicy. Boring and a bit thin.

Flasche von Hopfen & Malz, Berlin-Wedding. - Stumpfes Braunrot, klar.

Pours a clear light brown, somewhat coppery color topped with quite some tan colored head. The aroma is pretty weak, some malts and that’s it. The taste starts neutral to sweet, followed by decent bitterness, finishing with some spicy feel. Nicely drinkable and tasty.

Bottle from McTapps, ta Sabine. Clean amber with a full head. Aroma is nutty malt. Flavor is a bit yeasty, dough on a dusty bitter finish

Flasche von McTapps, vielen Dank Sabine! Klares braunes Alt mit schöner stabiler Schaumkrone. Geruch leicht röstmalzig, sonst leider kaum Aromen. Geschmack röstmalzig, dann leicht bitter. Insgesamt aber zu wässrig!

Draught at Fiege’s Stammhaus, Bochum
Beautiful clean glass with generous head. Smells and tastes like any Amber beer, there is some anonymous caramel , some paper, ordinary bitterness, quite bodiless.
Not interesting.

Kind of water for this dark amber beer. Not sure exactly how this should taste for the style but does taste of lightly toasted malt and some earthy hops. Ok beer but nothing out there.

Looks great; nut brown color and silky head. Aroma of roast grains is there, however taste is slightly metallic and abrupt. Dark roast grain bitterness is their, but as bierkrug said, something’s missing...
