Die feine Herbe durch ausgeuchte Aroma-Hopfen prägt dieses Bier. Unsere Freunde schätzen den klassischen Pils-Charakter. Es ist die Rezeptur von Moritz Fiege, die dieses Pils so besonders macht.

Pours clear deep golden with a frothy offwhite head that leaves some thick sticky lacing on the glass while dissipating. Smell is malty and floral with dark bread, cereal, hay, dried flowers, moist soil, minerals and orange peal. Taste is tiny sweet, bitter, malty, floral and earthy with bread, cereal, hay, moist soil, minerals and lemon peal. Mouthfeel is crisp, sparkling, slightly dry, slightly astringent and light to medium bodied. Finish is bitter with bread, cereal, hay, moist soil, minerals and lemon peal. Very enjoyable pilsner! Bitter, bready and with just the right amount of earthy floral hops.

Bottle, from some cheap supermarket in Köln. Gold, moderate white head and gentle condition. Gentle graininess initialy in the nose but with some starchiness creeping in (or out) with time. Chalky graininess and low hop in the mouth becoming quite dry and bitter in the finish.

500 ml swing top bottle from ThirstyBird, thanks! Poured into a pilsner glass, ABV 4.9% Clear body, with huge activity going in there. Bright golden yellow colour, two fingers of thick, soapy head that actually gained in size at first, while sitting in the glass. Excellent retention, heavy lacing left on the glass. Aroma is quite malty, with stale bread and hay notes. Malts on the taste too, but they seem to dominate the background mostly. Yp front a nice bitterness is in command, quite intense with long duration too. Some hay also present too, as an aftertaste note. Very very dry on the palate, good carbonation, medium thin body. Overall a very tasty and bitter pilsner.

Bottle. Light yellow, small and almost fully diminishing head. Light to moderate malty and sweetish aroma, some grassy hoppyness. Body is light to medium, malty flavor with some sweetness and grassy hoppyness. Finish is average, malty and dryish with nice hoppy bitterness. Quite watery but nicely hopped pils.

Bottle thnx to McTapps, cheers! Pours a clear yellow beer with a light, medium sized white head. Aroma is malty, light skunked and grainy. Flavour is medium bitter with a sweet base and a long, bitter finish, compared to other beers in the style. Quite a decent beer, I’ve had better German lagers.

Bottle, 50 cl: Straw-yellow beer with a lush white head and a fresh, slightly sweet aroma of malt, grain and grass. The flavor is moderately sweet and mild bitterness. The body is light, soft texture, carbonation average. Dry hoppy bitter finish. A nice textbook German pils.

A nice crisp pils, yet still only a pils, and enjoyable after some home project work tonite. The pour was its best feature, nice golden color with a very thick and rich foamy head. The lacing was quite solid also. The aroma was strong grass, some grains, and a light hint of vegetables or herbs. The flavor was strong dry grass over an almost bready initial light malt flavor. With increasing temperatures, the grassy hops took over and this was a rather hoppy bitter beast (for a pils anyway). Somewhat dry mouthfeel enhanced by a significant level of carbonation. Not bad. Much thanks to MoritzF, who through this one in as a gift in a trade with DerDoppelbock. A nice opportunity to sip a rare brew. Prosit!
