Oct 3, 2009 Wouldn’t of believed the ABV is 6.5%, very smooth, orangey-amber, think tan-white head, grain and toffee, a bit fizzy, very good stuff overall, recommended, Cheers!

Sep 8, 2009 The beer pours out a really beautiful cherrywood brown/red that’s quite pretty to stare at. Creamy off-white head with nice staying power. Aroma was skunky (thank you clear bottle), buttery and a touch of iced tea. Flavor was remarkably better, albeit sweet. Seemed like some sugar had been added as it reminded me of a sweetened tea they serve in the South. Light toffee notes tasted too.

Sep 4, 2009 bottle, Tesco Hereford. Deep amber colour with a small head. Aroma of wet paint. Full-bodied, very malty with a nice hoppy-bitter finish. Luckily the wet paint aroma was not detectable in the flavour.

Sep 3, 2009 Updated: Oct 13, 200950cl clear glass bottle, label as shown. Deep, almost clear (despite being bottle-conditioned "real ale") amber colour, big, creamy off-white head with decent lacing. Beautiful! Faint aroma of malt, not much else. Spicy malt and hops dominate the taste, with some brown sugar or peaches on the side. Agreeably dry hoppy finish. Higher alcohol volume (6.5 % abv) isn’t noticeable at all! Increasingly earthy aftertaste as you keep drinking. A good, characterful English Strong ale from Greene King, but one that is straightforward enough to qualify as a session beer. Drink irresponsibly. ;=)

Aug 31, 2009 Bottle 500 ml. Poured cloudy burnt copper with a large, off-white, rocky head which was mostly lasting. A woody aroma with notes of white pepper, toffee malts, nuts, caramelized dried mixed fruits, dried apricots and hints of spiced cookies. Flavor was a light earthy hop bitterness with toffee malts, all spice, pepper, overripe peaches & apricots, caramel, wood and a spicy/warming finish. Medium bodied with soft carbonation, an almost chewy mouthfeel and a good length finish.
