Pwn3d (1040), Manhattan, New York, USA Apr 10, 2008 Looks like light whiskey in its odd bottle. The pour delivers a lot of foam. Enjoyable carbonation. Slight cherry notes, astringent and gives the face a slight grimace. My buddies didn’t care for this but it was decent and i can see how it can be a pleaser to some. DYCSoccer17 (2187), Davis, California, USA Apr 5, 2008 500mL bottle purchased at Covell Nugget in Davis, CA. Strange, semi-sweet pumpkin aroma with some butterscotch diacetyl notes present. I also get a strong strong whiff of bananas. Tons of banana esters after the initial aroma dissipates. Lightly metallic and swampy. Weird. Moderately hazy, unfiltered orange body with a fluffy, off-yellow head present. Pretty attractive. Sticky pumpkin-like flavors to start, before things get caramelly and quite toasted and burnt to an extent. Some burnt popcorn flavors and a light metallic, hoppy finish. A little lingering sweetness is also present. It’s ok, but a little boring. nearbeer (1833), Knoxville, Tennessee, USA Mar 24, 2008 50 cl. Orange-copper with a three-finger head that settles into a lasting ring of foam. Initial aroma is skunk, but fades to reveal some pretty nice caramel and spicy butterscotch. Flavor is lightly-peppered caramel and green apple core. Slight sourish tinge on the whole. Some toasted nut shows up later. Light-medium body is tingly, kinda smooth, and dryish. PilsnerPeter (2598), Flushing, New York, USA Mar 10, 2008 Bottle: Thanks hopscotch! Pours amber with a thin tan head. This stuff went sour, and I kinda liked that. Aroma was that of a Flemish Red. Mildly tart raspberry, a touch of vinegar character, nice and bright. Crisp carbonation. The flavor is a bit tart upfront. Has a mild acidity which is reminiscent of raspberries. Maybe the yeast got funky to make it like a Flemish Sour Ale because this particular bottle was not characteristic of an English Strong Ale, hence the somewhat lower score. BREWMUSKCLES (1062), New Jersey, USA Mar 3, 2008 nutty chewy sweetness in this sticky velvety brew. decent bitter with an appropriate if insufficient taste of hops. easy and substantive this beer still leaves one wanting. though it does keep you thinking about beer. foamy insubstantial head on this tawny roasty brew. if the carbonation were to keep in the glass this beer could rate a little bit higher but i know it is brewed that way on purpose. BEERGUY007 (206), Scotia, New York, USA Mar 3, 2008 Orange in color, off white head. Unfiltered beer (Im hoping). Nice malts, I can taste the yeast a little. a little sticky. Nice beer, Ill do it again when it’s warmer out. masto (77), Helsinki, Finland Mar 3, 2008 Toffee malt aroma. Caramel toffee malt flavor has metallic undertones and good bitter hops. I’d like a bit fresher and complex palate. Solid but unimpressive. Cybercat (778), Georgia, USA Feb 23, 2008 Color is a clear, appetizing reddish-gold amber. Aroma is strong and crisp, but rather typical for an ale. Flavor has a good mix of maltiness and hop bitterness, with just a whisper of smokiness. It is not complex, but it is full without any watery feeling. This beer goes down nice and smooth. Not remarkable, but definitely worth sampling.
