Have to say that Morland makes some of the best looking beers, nice amber body, reddish hue, clear with nice sized white foam head. Again, clear bottle so skunk warning does apply. Strongest of the Morlands I have had and a little complex. Up front Strong ale smell moves into the pallet. Pale malts, hops and yeast blend with a bitter sweet brown sugar taste. Had this with a good hardy meal and mixed perfectly. Carbonation good but does disappear towards the end. Strong smooth aftertaste with a little hop alcohol bite. Looking forward to trying this again soon, would love to try on tap but would settle for "widget" prepared can.

Bottle: Copper, light head and lacing. Nose of grassy dull hops, alcohol and husk. Bitter thin flavor. Lame, metallic and too strong for its own good.

500ml bottle. Theres a bit of a story behind this beer, because its used by August 1999! Essentially it had been at the back of my girlfriends folks liquor cabinet for years and years, so needless to say, my rating has probably been influenced by that. Pours a murky looking brown body with an offwhite collar. Sharp citrus hops on the nose, dried fruits, some sweet underlying toffee, a musty note is also apparent. Near flat, syrup texture, gritty and somehow dirty mouthfeel. Plenty of dried apricot and sultana on the body, backed up with a touch of toffeeish malt, and the odd bit of dirt that somehow doesn’t seem to out of place. Probably best served fresh!

Pours a delectable amber with very small head. Nose is very yeasty, fruity, and full of english hop funk. Some decent body on the palate, delicate complex sweetness followed by bracing grassy bitterness. A nice british ale.

From 500 ml bottle this poured a cloudy dark amber with very fat off white head that faded quickly and left medium lacing. Nose is caramel malts and cookies. Medium mouthfeel. Flavor is a bit earthy, and finish is a somewhat sweet.

copper pour lots of carbonation and a huge frothy head. Good palate. Yeasty sweet sugary aroma hints of some fuesal alcohol actually a very sweet flavor w/ an odd twangy taste in it... something different in it that I liked.

Bottle. Pours hazy amber with off white head. Aroma is vanilla and slight earth. Flavor is sweet: vanilla, caramel, some earthiness and slight funkiness that is reminiscent of a farmhouse ale.

Appearance: dark copper color. Little head, beige and not much persistent. Aroma: candy malts, mild yeasty. Fruity, butterscotch and vanilla smells. Metallic touch and light hoppy smells. Flavor: sweet caramel malts, semi-toasty grains, yeasty, nutty, and slightly smoked. Reminiscences similar to noose, like butterscotch, vanilla, toffee, honey and cookies. Fruitiness like peaches and bananas. Medium dryness from hops and some persistent. Malty and some smoked aftertaste. Semi-warming, with old run reminiscences. Palate: medium body, semi-oily texture. Light carbonation. Nice candy malty and nutty; good balance.
