milewide (609), Grand Rapids, Michigan, USA Aug 24, 2009 British malt and hop flavor. Modest aroma of malt. Thin body. Clear bottle turns me off. aphalo (80), Turku, Finland Aug 20, 2009 Bottle. Appearance: hazy, copper/dark amber colour, creamy whitish head. Aroma has lots of mild malts (reminds me of sitting in a pub with a brewery), some caramel and hops. Flavour is close to aroma: English malts, grain, toffee, some bitter hops in the finish. Full bodied, some carbonation. 17thfloor (1403), Chicago, Illinois, USA Aug 17, 2009 Clear bottle. Sure, the bottle looks nice but the ratings don’t lie, skunked like no other. Pours a glowing basically clear orange amber with a huge root-beer float like foamy head 3.5. Aroma is huge huge huge skunked hops, basically like sticking your nose up a skunk’s asshole, some buttery caramel as well. Flavor of dirty earthy but seemingly green Goldings with some Challenger accents, skunk flavors mostly coming from the aroma when taking a sip, some light cheese, finishing slightly sugary with some decent bitterness followed by toffee and a bit of alcohol. Long cheesy bitter aftertaste. A touch sweet overall. Medium bodied with somewhat chunky fluffy larger carbonation. I’m sure this would be much better if they hadn’t sabotaged it themselves by sticking it in a clear bottle... mabel (2530), Toronto, Ontario, Canada Aug 9, 2009 [2280-20090614] Clear bottle. Skunky hay stacks and wet soggy dirty paper aroma. Clear, golden amber body with a medium-lasting foamy light yellow head. Grainy skunky floral hops flavour. Medium body is a little bitter. Fair, but Challenger and Goldings have never been my favourite hops.
(from The Wine Centre, Cork, Ireland; w/ jerc) MrRoss (614), Delta, British Columbia, Canada Aug 8, 2009 A very interesting beer, from the orange-amber colour and enormous head, to the complex aroma and taste. A very different and delightful taste. I wound up with virtually all the sediment going into my glass, no harm done and the excellent taste was not comprimised. HighWine (163), , California, USA Jul 31, 2009 Bottle. Amber color, think white head that fades quickly. Faint nose with a bit of citrus and a hint of skunkiness. Big malt taste with alcohol and a nice bitterness. Surprisingly balanced. armando629 (956), Budapest, Hungary Jul 13, 2009 Nice orange-amber body with a delicious tan head. Moderated caramel and malt aroma with a fine flowery-fruity-resiny hop perfume. The flavor is similar as the aroma with a medium body of caramel and malt, fine spicy and fruity hop on the tongue. Bittery finish with caramell&hop in the aftertaste. fonefan (10868), VestJylland, Denmark Jul 12, 2009 Bottle 50cl. Clear medium yellow orange amber color with a average, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, off-white to white head. Aroma is moderate malty, caramel, fruit, toffee. Flavor is moderate to light light heavy sweet and bitter with a average to long duration. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft. [20090517]
