2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 13/20 ciaranc (388) - Dublin, IRELAND - DEC 2, 2012
500ml (clear?!) bottle. Amber in the glass, short lasting fizzy head. Sharp caramel on the nose, bread and some nuts. Sweet malt in the flavour. Thin body, fizzy carbonation, short finish.

Bottle conditioned. Dark amber colour little head. Malty aroma. Taste is malts and a lot of yeast. An ok beer that I wouldn’t try again.
2.4 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 8/20 maekchu (1126) - Hirakata, JAPAN - OCT 28, 2012
500 ml. bottle from local Yamaya. Yeast, light fruit, and (strangely) some barnyard notes. Dull copper-brown color, thick chunky off-white head. Slightly barny initial flavors; mid palate continues with that and then goes bitter; final is fruity and funky. Taste like an unattenuated saison, really. Could this be skunked? Is the clear bottle the culprit? Infected? The big heavy head seems odd for this kind of beer. I seriously doubt that it should have these unusual off flavors.

Bottle pours a clear amber with a white head. Aromas of malt and some nutty aromas. Flavor is watery and flat. Body is light and finish is clean

Nice rich dark brown color, with small head, but leaves sticky lacing on glass. Aroma is whiskey, molasses, oak. Flavor is bitter, nutty, burnt toast. A nice tasty ale....
3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 BeerFunGuy (256) - California, USA - AUG 26, 2012
This beer has a deep reddish brown color. It almost reminds me of new castle but much more complex and robust flavors. I have never seen a beer with yeast sediment at the bottom. Don't pour it into your glass.

3.2 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 BlackHaddock (2440) - Shropshire, ENGLAND - MAY 8, 2012
Clear 500ml bottle, best before Jan 2008, drank March 2007.
Poured into a pint sleeve glass (badged: 2004 Cotswold Beer fest). A light chestnut amber with a good white foaming head.with bubbles rising to replenish any head that is leaving.
Very little aroma from my bottle or glass, a bit of hops and yeast, but great shakes here.
I’ve had this beer twice before and thought it awful (both times years ago), this time however I like it. There is depth and flavour where before there was nothing, a liveliness where before it was dead. Hops and malts aplenty in every mouthfull.
Pleased I had this beer again (it was given to me), I shall not be frightened to try it another time.

The beer in the glass is dark amber colored. It smells caramelly, slightly nutty-roasty and sweet. Starts malty bitter, slightly raisin-aroma. The middle part shows very hoppy-bitter, slightly roasty-nutty. Goes into a bitter-dry hoppy finish!
