It wasn’t anything real special but I almost drank the lot before I got around to rating it. Clear amber/copper body with a very small white head. Burnt caramel on the nose. Taste is the same as the nose without too much extra, smooth, good bitterness and the alcohol is well hidden. haukur (682), Reykjavik, Iceland

Bottles can differ, I´ve had some with a strong full palate and others very watery. A nice sipper before bedtime YourDarkLord (1800), Urbana, Illinois, USA

Those great brews that took me from my American macros across The Pond to beer that was robust and meaty and intense. But I’m back across The Pond now, preferring good old American micros. This is a decent beer. Pours dark amber with a small off-white head that flees quickly. The aroma is subtle or faint, as you wish. Floral, fruity, malty. Watery texture and a light body. The flavor is light hops and malt mix. So many better beers out there to waste much time on this one. canary dog (441), Rutland, Vermont, USA

Has a slight skunkiness in the nose, but is nothing like a European pilsner-- this is a true English Pale Ale in taste, body, and appearance. The hearty 6.5% is well hidden. Excellent. | 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Jul 9, 2005 Grassy aroma. Pale tea colored with a fluffy head. Spicy hop in the initial taste with a very mild sweet smoothness towards the end that finally finishes with a bitter aftertaste. MiP (9060), Sønderborg, Denmark
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Jun 27, 2005 Bottle. Brown colour, unstable white head. Peppery flavour with a hint of malt. Flavour is also a bit salty and possibly a little skunked. Bitterness is slightly harsh, but in a nice way. nick76 (2648), Tampa, Florida, USA

Nice copper brown color and full head. Full hop flavor without being too bitter with sweet caramel malts. Finish has the same strong hops that dominate throughout. theacelatrain (262), Washington DC, USA
