| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Jul 7, 2004 Bombastic beige head on top of a dark copper colored pour - full of yeasty floaties. Aroma starts off toffee like but finishes slightly soapy. Good solid bitter flavor with hints of fruit, cigarette smoke and toffee - all blended together nicely. Mouthfeel is a tad on the thin side - but does not ruin this. Pleasantly surprised. Alcohol hidden well. Hildigöltur (5109), København, Denmark

| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jun 29, 2004 Hazy copper color, decent head that faded slowly. Aroma was a bit sulfury, with a malt note. Flavors were initially apple oriented like many English cask beers. As it warmed, the apple gave way to a subdued toffee flavor. Not bad at all. robertsreality (2460), Minnesota, USA

Interesting demerara malty flavour. Full mouthfeel with alcohol finish. This is a nice brew but a bit raw like homebrew. I’m now going to buy six for storage and try them at various ages starting at one year. imdownthepub (5122), Banbury, Oxfordshire, England

My last remaining Hens Tooth from Morlands as was and kept in perfect condition (despite the clear bottle!) Deep rich velvety smooth plummy, peachy beer with a sherry like quality, little bitterness or hop overlay, this had been absorbed by the silky alcohol notes. Very Very good at this age, from this brewery, its gone now though. joss (3650), Garching b. München, Germany

Golden amber, plenty of carbonation, off-white foamy head.
Yeasty gunpowder, bitter grassy and slight sherry flavors.
Peppery aftertaste,
mild mouthfeel.
