Plate abounds with complex flavours, hpos dominate and linger into the nice finish. A sweet maltiness is just noticable at the end..good beer with lots of flavour. Cybercat (831), Georgia, USA

Aroma is strong and crisp, but rather typical for an ale. Flavor has a good mix of maltiness and hop bitterness, with just a whisper of smokiness. It is not complex, but it is full without any watery feeling. This beer goes down nice and smooth. Not remarkable, but definitely worth sampling. bgburdman9 (823), Columbus, Ohio, USA

Very yeasty aroma and flavor with a little spicy hops coming through. A little bitterness coming through but very smooth. A pretty descent english ale overall which is not one of my favorite styles.. Hah! Taste was a bit sweet up front, and malty, also bread like, with a bit of a hoppy bitter finish. Decent beer, not exactly what I like... tsarman (794), Northern, New Jersey, USA

Good balance of hops and malt. Yeast in the bottom from a million years ago. It really did taste like a "real" ale. Good brew. vanvenlo (794), Glen Iris, Australia

Hazy brown-red colour, reasonable head and good thick suds lacing. Light fruit and big steely taste, remininscent of an Orval. Hop steely, dry lingering light aftertaste. this style is not my mug of beer. slimchill (788), Austin, Texas, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 12/20 | Jul 16, 2007 Bottle. Nose is sweet malts, a touch of caramel and apple. Bright red to brown with a patchy head. Mostly yeast background with lots of spice. Peppery with a sharp biting palate. A nice beer, but lacking in overall impressiveness. | 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 12/20 | Apr 13, 2007 A bit unusual - has some brett- and gueuze-like funky affectations and is sometimes explosively carbonated. Rather good though. Seems acidic.
