3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 Holy (651) - GERMANY - SEP 19, 2010
0.33L bottle. Deep rich red color with head that fades quickly. Smells sweet, flowers, slightly bitter. Taste is light, caramel - slight wood taste. Pleasant aftertaste.
4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 MrRoss (646) - Delta, British Columbia, CANADA - AUG 8, 2009
A very interesting beer, from the orange-amber colour and enormous head, to the complex aroma and taste. A very different and delightful taste. I wound up with virtually all the sediment going into my glass, no harm done and the excellent taste was not comprimised.
2.1 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20 JohnnyOS (646) - Golden, Wisconsin, USA - FEB 27, 2006
Pours amber color with slightly tan head. Aroma is of bitter malts with some alcohol. Flavor is very bitter, acidic with a slightly alcohol finish. I’ll have to try this again, because this bottle should not have a 3.+ average.
3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 Ingevara (645) - SWEDEN - MAR 30, 2002
Exotic! I think of still fermenting applejuice, really fizzy with lots of hidden aromas coming on after a while. Enjoy it slowly and not too cold.
2.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20 french tickler (642) - Aylmer, Quebec, CANADA - FEB 9, 2007
Drank in a stem glass. Dark orange poor with a THICK sticky browing tanned head. You can also see alot of the yeast sediments at the bottom. Aromas are very hoppy, herbal, somewhat spicy, floral, slightly caramel. To the palate, it is somewhat unbalanced, the sournes is not expected... very long with an awkward bitter dry aftertaste. Flavors are enigmatic... which is sometimes good... very natural tasting beer... malty, hoppy... barely no sweetness to it... apparently this is a good beer to age... i’m starting to wonder if i realy want to buy more to age it!?!?!.... Did i get a good batch?
3.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 nigos (623) - Sheffield, South Yorkshire, ENGLAND - JAN 15, 2003
Copper in colour with light lasting head. Has a very malty nose. The taste I found to be a bit wheaty!? The stands out quite a lot in the taste. This was a fresh bottle and I would be interested to taste it once it has been cellared for a year or so. Why oh why is it in clear glass though?
1.1 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 1/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 3/20 robertjm (623) - El Cerrito, California, USA - MAR 5, 2007
Very foamy head, almost to a point of being soap bubbly. Dary orange color. When first poured it was 95% head, though it disapated after a bit. Sour tasting. Honestly, the bottle was on sale for 99 cents at Ledger’s Liquors, and I saw it recently for $3.50 at Bevmo so I have to wonder if this was old or had a bottle infection of some sort. Then again they’re using maltose syrup in there so not sure what the sourness is coming from. Either way its kind of unpleasant.
3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20 UnionMade (621) - Connecticut, USA - OCT 7, 2002
Very tasty. Very well balanced, with a strong malt and hop presence. Really full flavored, with a massive head and medium to large body. Tuff stuff.
