15.08.2013. 0,5l Bottle. Thanks to Sverre Brekne!!! Amber brown colour with tan head. Sweet aroma of dark roasted malts. Very soft sweet with good flavours of dark malts. Rich and rather firm body. Medium bitterness.

Meh. Average. Sour on the top note and not a lot after the overly banging caramel in your face front that this has. I want to burn my passport rather than recommend this.

Bottle. Not bad but nothing special. Pleasant hoppy taste, long dry palate, nice color and head. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

I still can’t quite decide if I like this. It’s super malty, with a lot of caramel, bread, alcohol. Slightly syrupy mouthfeel. Better than the old speckled hen, to be sure, but I have a feeling this would taste a lot better in an English pub.

#114 - bottle from Supermarket. Deep rich oak and fruit aroma, almost whisky like. Lovely golden amber colour. Rich malt and dried fruit taste, very nice to drink. Smooth and foams a little in mouth .

Maybe I got a bad bottle but this was a pretty horrid beer. Clear amber pour with a white head. Aromas of skunk and yard clippings. Taste is weak malt with skunk. Just a bad experience all around. I got through it but I had to chug it. This is a great example of why beer doesn’t belong in a clear glass bottle.

Pour is a dark amber with a large tan head. Aroma is malty and slightly woody. Flavor is very sweet and sugary with some bready malty and a bit of dried dark fruit. The sweetness kinda stands out more than anything but this is a decent and different offering.

(Bottle 0.5 l/ Half of a bottle) Clear, dark amber color. Yellow, medium sized, medium fast falling head, lacing, reduced to small stable foam. Medium body, medium carbonation, oily texture, dry and alcoholic mouthfeel. Aroma: Dry and complex, malty and moderate alcoholic. Caramel and a bit toasted malts, bread, raisins, medium strong notes of alcohol and wood. Slightly aroma of resin hops. Taste: Very malty. First caramel malts, second pleasant, increasing notes of toasted malts. Medium strong alcohol, soft bitterness. Finish is medium long, dry, toasted and a bit alcoholic. Nice dry aftertaste, dominated by toastiness and pleasant bitterness. Very interesting, complexive strong ale but alcohol notes could be softer.
