Bottle, clear glass. Nose airy and a little stale out of the neck, but that subsided, in favor of crystal and latent fruit, a touch of nail polish, light berry stuffed under faint caramel/toffee. Pours a beautiful clear amber with a lacing cream head. Taste is semi-dry with fleet flights of fruit before the light but rubbery bitterness rears its head, very smooth fullish body is somewhat flat, alcohol vapors have wound their way around the poles, aftertaste isn’t particularly compelling but there’s nothing particularly upsetting here, either. Comes off as something of a generic ’Strong Ale’ with subtle oak and vanilla notes from barrel aging. Malt is there but undeveloped, hops just aren’t.

Bottle. Poured dark copper color with an average frothy off-white head that was mostly lasting with good lacing. Moderate grassy hop and sweet malt aroma. Medium body with a slick texture and soft carbonation. Medium bittersweet flavor with a smooth bittersweet finish of moderate duration. Soft drinkable beer.

Nice toffee sweetness, more complex than OSH but not as much as most would come to expect from any barrel aged offerings. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Dec 2012 - An old man in Tesco old me that I should buy this. Made with aged beer and Old Speckled Hen. Quite mild with a spicy sweetness. Malty and a little sharp, bready. It’s OK.

Bottle at home in London with Chris. Pours crystal clear, deep gold with a small, creamy off-white cap. Sweet, bready malts in the nose, some ripe berries. Medium sweet flavor, sugary-bready malts, some plums, dates, other ripe fruits. Medium bodied with fine to average carbonation. Creamy. Sweet, lightly dry bread to finish, some mild leafy bitterness, ripe fruits, berries. Decent.

12oz bottle - pours amber with small beige head. Nose is creamy caramel, brown candy, bready and herbal. flavor adds brown sugar. fairly bitter with underlying sweetness. alcohol bite for a 6.5% beer - really?!? Compliments my saucisson sec quite well, not really. A bitterer than usual English Ale. weird aftertaste.
