Bottle. The ruddy reddish color is evident thru the clear bottle. Not much of a head, just a bit of foam. The aroma is of wet mash and caramel, with a sweet edge. This drinks with an almost whiskey-malt sugary bottom, ending with a decidedly British twist. (#4988, 4/16/2013)

Bottle, clear glass. Nose airy and a little stale out of the neck, but that subsided, in favor of crystal and latent fruit, a touch of nail polish, light berry stuffed under faint caramel/toffee. Pours a beautiful clear amber with a lacing cream head. Taste is semi-dry with fleet flights of fruit before the light but rubbery bitterness rears its head, very smooth fullish body is somewhat flat, alcohol vapors have wound their way around the poles, aftertaste isn’t particularly compelling but there’s nothing particularly upsetting here, either. Comes off as something of a generic ’Strong Ale’ with subtle oak and vanilla notes from barrel aging. Malt is there but undeveloped, hops just aren’t.
