A dark brown color with little head. Aroma is caramel, toffee, and raisin. Flavor is malty with more caramel, toffee, toasty notes. Aftertaste is dry. Overall I don’t know what it is but I dig these hens.

From a bottle. Pours a rich copper color with a robust off-white head. Good lacing. Nice nose of malts, fruits, spices. Medium body. Creamy mouthfeel. Flavor is rich malts with lots of ripe fruit and floral hops. Great drinking.

Ótima Tripel belga. Cor amarelo-palha com ótima formação de espuma e aroma remetendo frutas amarelas e especiarias, na boca corpo médio, com notas de fermento belga, pêssegos e damasco, com álcool bem inserido. Final longo e aquecedor. Ótima breja! ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

12oz bottle poured into a tulip glass. Clear deep amber with gorgeous red hues and medium off white head. Honey like malt aromas, with some caramel, toffee, fruitcake and some grass. Juicy malt flavor, lo-med bitterness, honey, dried apricot and cookies. Med body, satisfying, well rounded and yummy. Cool.

color is deep clear amber with decent yellow tinted head initially but dissipates fast. aroma is sweet with some alcohol and malts. distinctive carmal flavours with some deep malty tone and hint of alcohol in aftertaste. almost feels like a cognac, very smooth. highly recomended, would be good with a cigar. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Poured dark oaky red. Strong bitter taste wth a rich flavour of roast nuts and malt. Quite sour, and heavy in the palate. Quite slick. A robust ale but not a session beer.

500ml bottle from Sainsbury. Attractive deep orange colour. Thin white head. Some GK yeast character on aroma, bit of cheese even. Then some spicy toffee also on the aroma. The Abbot Reserve I thought was better. But there is some interesting character there from the older ale used in this. That cheese for a start, but also a ton of malt character too. Settles down into a bit of a sipper to be honest. Just about the best GK beer I’ve had. Wow, this is half decent. Very drinkable and makes you want to go back to it. About the only GK beer I’d happily introduce other RBers to. Even thinking of taking it to LCRBM5. It’ll make up for the Mack beers I’m taking anyway. Any filtering or pasteurisation doesn’t affect it too much. Decent dessert/cheese beer. Would be good with a decent medium cheddar. Yes, it has done that hardest thing, it has won me round from my original scepticism and lack of interest in GK beers. Pretty good

0,5L bottle. Deep copper bronze body, dense offwhite head hangs around. Quite rich aroma, malty with notes of toffee, brown sugar, and dark grain bread. Underlying complexities of rum and raisin. Rich sticky body, moderate carbonation, warming dryness towards the finish. Brown sugar and bitter orange citrus hop on the body leads onto woody spice and raisin. Finish is bitter with vinous notes. Lovely complex and rich English strong ale. Very good!

Bottle. Pours clear dark amber with small white head. Aroma is roasted coffee beans and roasted malt. Taste is bitter with a bit of sweetness on the sides of the tongue. Palate is filling with strong carbonation. Licorice, coffee and caramel is present in the finish.
