Cask at The Wharf, Aalborg, Denmark
Red amber color with small creamy head, nice lace. The aroma is very mild, malt and sugar. Soft and round mouthfeel; it has caramel flavor and correct bitterness, with light nutty/herbaceous touch and unfortunately some metallic feeling too.
Waste of the good 5X.

Cask at Charlie’s Bar, Copenhagen. An amber beer with a fluffy beige head. The aroma has notes of malt and butterscotch. The flavor is sweet with notes of malt, butterscotch, and spices, leading to a smooth finish.

Noticeably strong real ale but probably is its only defining characteristic.

Liberty Bounds Spoons. Clear amber beer. No real head. Smooth palate, no carbonation. A tad dry. Mild toffee caramel. Trace of estery pear. Some hop noticeable only by the bitterness it delivers in the semi dry finsh. Dull.

Cask conditioned Handpump Cordwainer Northampton. A reddy brown coloured beer with an off-white ring of head. Sweet and boozy. Good fruity alcohol length. Smooth and alcoholic with nice sweetness. Very enjoyable. Red fruits. Surprisingly good.

tombyars (1205) - Saltcoats, SCOTLAND - NOV 9, 2011
Tasted this in the Saltcot, Saltcoats (JDW) in November 2011. Cask, handpump dispense. Clear copper red in colour with a thick creamy buff head. Slightly sweet note of rum&raisin fudge in the short aroma. Thick silky smooth creamy mouthfeel and superb lacing throughout. Robust malty base redolant in syrupy Dundee cake flavours with juicy sultanas and cherries evident. Slight hop prickle noted in the short aftertaste but very hard to spot this. Pleasant, warming alcoholic notes of Southern Comfort in the sweet finish with hints of vanilla and oak cask present. This strong ale was on top form and tasted far superior to the bottle version. Highly recommended and worth seeking out.

Cask at the GBBF 2011. Hazy copper with a small white head. Caramel and toffee dominate the aroma. Sweet caramel flavour with an apple peel note and a grassy finish
