2.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
Bottle to half-pint glass (shared with the Mrs.). Looks solid; a transparent orange with thin white head that dissipates into lacing fairly quickly. Smells of light caramel with some doughiness and funkiness. Tastes like it smells with a solid mouthfeel. Okay for what it is.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
[500ml bottle from Asda, High Wycombe] Pours deep golden with a slight white head and a light fizz. Some lemon up front then lots of leafy hops. Quite sweet. Impressed by GK making a beer where the hops actually show through; the unfortunate thing is that this particular hop flavour is one that I’m not particularly fond of. Nevertheless, it’s not a bad beer. Clean finish too,

bottle. Deep gold with small head. There’s a surprisingly big hop finish to this light bodied ale. Pleasant, and goes down easy.

2.8 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 11/20
(Bottle): Pours a clear golden colour with small white head. Aroma of grassy, earthy hops, some sweet maltiness and a bit of skunk. Taste is initially of subdued malt and fruits which quickly gives way to some moderate hits of floral hops, citrus and grassy/earthy notes. I like the bitterness, it’s just enough to give a kick but not too much to spoil the experience. Nothing special in this beer but it’s drinkable.

3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
50cL bottle. Pours a dark yellow, clear, with decent adhesion and a small persistent head. Aroma is medium-hoppy with a bit of skunk mentioned by other reviewers. Taste is balanced, fresh, with some stray barnyard and hay notes. Palate is very good, slightly oily texture, but still relatively crisp and a nice aftertaste. Good to drink all evening, I’d guess. I would if I had more than one. Far superior to "Old Speckled Hen".
