COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Bottled, pasteurised;
It’s rich amber colour and superb fruity aromas are complemented by a delicious blend of malty yastes. Toffee and malt combine with bitterness on the back of the tongue to give a balanced sweetness. This is followed by a refreshingly dry finish.

500ml Bottle. Clear bronze liquid with a few light greyish bubbles on top. Malty nose which translates to malty bitters and a mild toffee on the tongue. Medium-dry finish but it’s not at all rounded and it’s a bit lacking in most areas.

Thin weak brown sugar aroma. Not a bad session beer. Could use a touch more malts.

Väriltän kuparia muistuttava Old Speckled Hen muodostaa valkoisen vaahdon.

was poured into a pint glass from a nitro-tap. Amber colored that took a little bit to settle with a defined and creamy head balanced with aromas of caramel, toffee, and creams. Not overly complex, but it certainly works well very creamy and smooth feel. The feel is the real star of the beer along with toffee and cream flavors a quality session beer. It’s not the most amazing beer in the world, but hits the spot when wanting something with lower alcohol

AWMiller (512) - Mansfield, Texas, USA - SEP 22, 2011
This brew pours up a dark amber (maybe even copper) colored body with a foamy near-tan colored head which dissipates down to a thin foamy head that leaves suitable lacing on the glass for quite some time. Scents full of caramel and butterscotch along with some bread/biscuits here and there. Flavors of melted caramel and warm butterscotch pudding along with the rich malts and a touch of hops keeps all the flavors in balance without being overly ‘hoppy’ or overly sweet.

Pours amber with a low off-white head. Aroma and flavor are mostly malts. A tad fuller than a lager, but pretty light for an ale. Drinkable.

Very average ale with a very average taste. Good for necking if you just fancy an ale that is unobtrusive and refreshing. Would not go to any great lengths to hunt this down but would buy if it it were on cask.
