3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
UPDATED: OCT 2, 2010 [On draught in the Robin Hood, Furze Platt, Maidenhead] Deep reddish amber, slight cream head, very light fizz. Usual GK caramel/toffee with a very fruity background. Quite a rich mouthfeel; growing yet still fairly mild earthy bitterness. Yer standard traditional bitter, but better than many GK efforts.

2.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Cask at the Saracens Head, Beaconsfield. Seemed to have been poured through a sparkler, which drove a harsh bitterness in to the tight white head. The beer itself was red. Aroma was quite muddled and sweet. Regulation ípremiumí bitter, fruity with not many hops but an uncomfortable harsh bitter finish

[699-20070926] Cask @ Sherlock Holmes (London, GL). Brewery grains aroma is faintly beery. Clear, brown amber body with a small long-lasting creamy off-white head. Grainy yeast flavour has a hint of lemon. Medium body has a fruity bitterness. Quite a nice pint of bitter, in excellent condition, very repeatable.

Cask - Brickmakers, Sprowston. Copper in colour with a fairly average white head. Usual aromas with some sweet malts. The flavours are mildly fruity - of dried raisins. Smooth on the palate, perhaps a tad watery. Not bad for a session ale but not quite as good as itís bottled 5.2% counterpart in my book.

Cask at The Wellington, october 07. Shinny golden/ copper color with a small white head. Salty, mineral aroma. Faint. Raisiny, caramel flavor with some maltinss. A bit artificial and tired. Some malts but a bit bland and watery palate. Rather boring and simple bland bitter.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Clear caramel coloured. Lasting off-white head. Well, nothing extraordinaire here, but miles ahead the bottled excuse of a beer sold under the same name. Fair nutty, almondy, leafy flavours in a palate that passes from sweet to medium-dry swiftly. Round-edged and diplomatic offering.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Cask in the ingrim bar. Aroma is caramel hints at apple sweetness, but some fruity esters and hints at citrus hop help. Taste is a similar bag of tricks, nice beer to be honest even though its now green king.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Cask at Standing Order, Edinburgh.
Amber colour. Sweetish aroma with good fruitiness and hops backing up. Bit sugary in flavour, but I can take it as long as fresh hops are used. Bit nutty, toffeish with low bitterness.
