COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Cask: Regular.
Ingredients: Pipkin pale malt; Crystal malt; brewers sugar; Bittering hops: Challenger; Aroma hops: Goldings and Challenger; Morland yeast.
New beer introduced in Aug 2006 to replace the original 5.2% Morland Old Speckled Hen.
It’s rich amber colour and superb fruity aromas are complemented by a delicious blend of malty yastes. Toffee and malt combine with bitterness on the back of the tongue to give a balanced sweetness. This is followed by a refreshingly dry finish.

Pint on tap. Faint hop nose. Crystal clear copper beer with thin white head. Great creamy mouthfeel with toffee/malt finish. A little hops gives this a great balance. Beautiful beer, easy drinking.

Cask sampled at ACAT 2015. Pours a slightly hazy amber with bubbly white head. Aroma of nice caramel and toffee malt over fruity english esters. Taste follows with a clean and refreshing finish. Great example of a traditional bitter.

On tap at the MailBox Lincoln. Deep amber colour with creamy head. Caramel taste and aroma. Not much else. I remember it being so much better.
