Brewed since 1999 by Greene King following the take-over of Morlands
Bottled Old Speckled Hen has been sterile filtered in the "Old Speckled Hen Hall" bottling facility since May 2006.

Bottle. Pours a dark amber color with a medium amount of head. Smells of roast and caramel. Taste is overwhelmingly malty and a bit bready with a fair amount of sweetness. Heavy sticky mouthfeel, not too carbonated.

Barwa ciemnego bursztynu. Piana biała drobno pęcherzykowa, dosyć szybko opada i minimalnie obkleja szkło. Aromat słodowy z lekkimi nutami karmelu. Przy mocniejszym wdechu czuć aromat maślany. W smaku słodowo-karmelowe. Goryczka słaba i krótka. Pozostawia lekki posmak maślanej bułki. Niskie wysycenie i niska treściwość.

750ml bottle shared with son - Rich amber body, two fingered white head, looks splendid. Aroma is caramel, bread and fruit of some kind. Bitter ending. I could have sworn I’d rated this before, but as it falls under the category of "some beer" it is easily forgotten.

Bottle. Estery-fruity aroma reminiscent of red apples on top of a caramelly and biscuity malty base. Marginal notes of toffee and earth. Light sticky mouthfeel finishing with a dry, grassy bitterness. Ok.

355ml bottle from Lidl. The appearance is not perfect, head dissipates very quickly, but the taste was very satisfying - Old Speckled Hen is what I expect from an ale. Malty taste, a little sweet, not too bitter, not sour at all.

Piwo butelkowe.
