I tried this beer on July 1, 2008 after purchasing from the Queen’s Quay LCBO outlet in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. The beer was originally in a clear bottle showing a translucent reddish-brown beer. The beer poured a translucent red with a thin tan head. The aroma was caramel malt, some nuts, and a little yeast. The mouthfeel is medium bodied, well carbonated, and crisp. The flavour is nutty malt, with a nice hop balance, a very enjoyable beer. polomagnifico (389), Saginaw, Michigan, USA Jul 17, 2008 Can. Aroma of caramel malt, sweet fruits, and metal. Deep amber brown hue with a large off-white creamy head that leaves great lace. Flavor is caramel malt and fruity sweetness. Palate is smooth and watery flat. Medium-light bodied. Very smooth due to the nitro and not in any way offensive. Quite satisfying and not as metalic as the Abbot Ale sampled right before it. Would order it if found on tap or on a menu. Quite a decent brew. janir (136), Oulu, Finland Jul 17, 2008 Clear coppery orange color with off-white creamy head. Aroma is a bit sweet, malty, a bit of caramel malts. with nuts and slight hoppyness. Still quite lame though. Flavor is woody and malty with dry bitter finish. Palate is medium-bodied, oily and low carbonated. Barnabus (28), Niagara, Ontario, Canada Jul 14, 2008 500 mL bottle from LCBO. After 937 ratings I have nothing to say except I liked it. Just the right balance of bitterness. note666 (160), Eindhoven, Netherlands Jul 12, 2008 had it on holiday in England 11-07-’08. 500 ml can. light amber colour. small head. fruity iknd a bockish taste.
