3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 Bif (1051) - St. Louis, Missouri, USA - JUN 9, 2013
On tap at the Brewery. Served a deep Mahogany color with a nice tan head that fades slowly to some lacing. Aroma of roasted malt, some caramel and dark fruit. Taste of roasted malt, some caramel sweetness with dark fruit and a hint of chocolate in the background. Nice bitterness and the finish is quite dry. Medium body, smooth and creamy texture. Nicely balanced. Enjoyable beer that goes down quite easy.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 Jado (278) - Camp Hill, AUSTRALIA - MAY 28, 2013
Pours a clear mahogany brown with lighter red-orange highlights and a coffee-coloured head that sticks around. Aromas of caramel, roasted malt and raisins on the nose. The taste is similar, starting off with a sweet toffee-like note, giving way to some dark fruit and baked apple before finishing with a cocoa powder/chocolate note. Smooth, creamy palate with a lingering fruity aftertaste. Very nice brown ale, perhaps more so because it straddles the line between brown ale and porter.
3.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 M_Sack (38) - - MAY 19, 2013
Frothy head that dissipates slowly. Beautiful dark brown with tinges of red. Toffee and a slight cherry cola aroma which detracts. An initial sweet but hollow flavour that builds into a nice roasted malt/toffee mid palate and dry, roasted nut finish. A beer that improves as it works through the various flavour profiles leaving you wanting another gulp. Perfect for late autumn.

3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 Sevenlee (904) - Central Coast, NSW, AUSTRALIA - MAR 12, 2013
Pours a nice dark brown colour with a beige head. Aroma is malt, toffee, raisins and some dark sugar. Taste is medium sweet of toffee and raisins with hints of nuts leading to a somewhat dry finish. Pretty decent, I thought.
2.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 1/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20 KeefOz (486) - Tarragindi, AUSTRALIA - NOV 6, 2012
Poured with a 20cm high (height of glass) light tan foamy head that took time to diminish. When it eventually collapsed a liquid that was dark black with a ruby tint was produced. Laced poorly. Aroma strongly of roasted grain. Taste of roasted grain and a hint of coffee. Medium body. Finish was fairly smooth and dominated by roasted grain.
3.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 13/20 LesArgen (135) - AUSTRALIA - OCT 8, 2012
Props to this beer for its lovely head. The aromas are quite feint but varied, with coffee, chocolate, dried fruit, smoke and peanuts. The taste is something of a blunt instrument initially, with coffee predominant before the alcohold kicks in. There are also notes of chocolate and quite a lot of salt. The palate is slightly thinner than you’d hope, but overall this is a nice effort.

Draft at Taps Beer Bar, Kuala Lumpur. Wow, a real English Brown Ale from down under. I'm starting to believe they really do understand us after all :-) Very dark brown pour with lots of froth and lacing, pretty much as expected. Not such a strong aroma but there are hints of all sorts of flavours. There are raisins and caramel dancing on my tongue right now with a hint of bitterness in the aftertaste. Worth tasting and very enjoyable, but not a session ale for me.
