3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle, 9C. Clear amber with an inch of off-white head. High bead. Strong toffee aroma with some plums, bread, light spices. Sweet toffee, some berries, gingerbread. Bitterness is there, but doesnít really match it. Like a big clean Irish red ale and not really my sort of thing.

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Tap @ brewery. Dark amber with good lacing. Aromas of citrus and pine hops as well as caramel malt. Initial bitter hop flavours of citrus blossom and pine up front but only immediate bitterness which leads into a caramel and biscuit malt sweetness. A slightly bitter back palate but the sweet malts are the predominant flavour. I like this one.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
this one has super model good looks, with its tanned complexion and auburn hair. The aroma has plenty of toffee malt, some grapefruit and a touch of floral aroma.
The taste is very smooth, featuring toffee, orange and grapefruit in a combo that hides its alcohol with ease. A ripper.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Pours a dark amber color with a decdent tan head that fades to sme lacing. Aroma of pine, some caramel and bit of grain. taste of Pine, some roasted malt and caramel sweetness with a touch of spice. Big bitterness and the finish is quite dry. Medium body, mooth with a bit of a lingering bitterness. The 7.5% ABV is well hidden. Interesting take on the style.

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Pours a deep but clear amber with a tight beige head. Aromas of pine, grass, caramel and malt on the nose. The taste is dominated initially by hop bitterness followed up by dark caramel, biscuity malt and some spice. Medium mouth feel with citrus zest and pepper in the aftertaste. Good beer.

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
330ml bottle from Slow Beer. Almost looks like a barley wine with a good strong head of sand coloured foam and a strong honey amber base. Weighty in the glass which is always a good sign. There are a lot of caramel aromas coming from the glass and it smells great. Rich, full and thick in the mouth this beer leaves a long aftertaste on the palate. Hoppy with no bitterness. Nice.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle from Slowbeer. Deep amber/brown, aroma of butterscotch/burnt caramel, some alcohol and piney hops, quite bitter with roasted malt flavor, warming alcohol. Didnít mind it at all.

2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Into a tulip at just on cool. Yeast on in its almost opaque; a tawny orange in colour with very fine carbonation. Atop settles a good two inches of layered foam that messes up the glass with froth. Well spiced, HOT nose has sticky, caramelised stonefruit and citrus zest atop heavily toasted, sweet malt notes. There is some aggressively bitter, herbal hops displayed on the palate but these are muddled and frenzied into a mix of sticky fruit esters, biscuity malt and bready yeast tones, phenols and boozy, warming alcohol. Have to agree with Stew on this one. Medium light body, oily finish and residually sugary with a heavily woody, burnt toast linger in the very depths. Warms the cockles I must say but doesnít come together. Needs a few screws tightened I think!! (33cL, no date stamp, Cellarbations Carlisle)

2.9 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
This is basically the beer equivalent of an overripe, over oaked red wine displaying ídead fruití character. That is, the sheer weight of the palate and alcohol drowns out some amber ale character. Really hard to get a real on the flavours other than some spice and aniseed which to my tastes is mostly alcohol derived. Not unpleasant mind you, just lacks character.
