3.6 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20 Brenhophead (392) - Perth, - APR 19, 2012330mL bottle, pours deep amber with an off white head(small bubbles + good carbonation) and an amazingly unique aroma.. fresh grass/hay, caramel and sweet peach notes. There is a huge nutty flavour to this beer with grassy notes and the alcohol is hard to detect.
3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 Bif (1051) - St. Louis, Missouri, USA - JUN 13, 2013
Pours a mahogany color with a tan head that fades to some lacing. Aroma of pine, some malt/caramel sweetness, some fruit and bit of grain in the background. Taste of pine, caramel sweetness with some fruit and grain, Nice bitterness and a dry finish. Medium body, quite smooth and a bit creamy. The 8.5% ABV is very well hidden. Very nice balance. Very enjoyable beer. A solid offerinng for the style. Well worth checking out.

Bottle from mane liquor. Deep amber pour with an off white head. Nose is quite strong! Pine needles and grassy hops dominate this baby. Taste is pine hops upfront with a well balanced malt backing bringing a dry mouthfeel. Pretty big beer. Another mornington beer that ticks the boxes

Cloudy brown with floaties. Thick head settles to a tight light brown cover. Lots of sweet caramel and tropical fruit and a hint of woodiness too. Malty caramel/toffee sweetness at first covered in a blanket of bitter goodness that lasts and lasts. Good stuff.
3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 barakihunter (186) - Brisbane, AUSTRALIA - NOV 12, 2012
UPDATED: NOV 13, 2012 Aroma stone fruit, melon, hops. Appearance cloudy, red-brown, w/ a cream head. Taste stone fruit, toffeed apple, a tad of lycee, plus some super hoppy bitterness that actually takes away from the rest of the taste on the palate.

UPDATED: SEP 29, 2012 Bottle from Mane Liquor. Aggressive amber pour with a dirty off white head on top. Nose is sharp pine needles, pineapple and grass. Quite boozy. Taste is big and aggressive and sticky grass and piney hops. Tropical notes behind it all. Very big for an Aussie take on the style. I like it!

0.9 AROMA 2/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 1/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 1/20 fletchfighters (837) - AUSTRALIA - AUG 28, 2012
A-- Poured a really dark amber color with some ruby hints? Sure this is not a barleywine?? Obvious big malt body. One finger off white, more tan head, Slowly faded to a ringed collar and film. Nice. Good head retention as got two fingers of head on swirling. Head does not last long though.
S-- Scorched toffee, BBQ’ed pineapple, abused orange and some pine to back it up. I think the pine was not abused or harmed in this. The rest sure was. Quite medicinal and syrupy smell and gets like old band aids. Not going well.
T-- Syrupy orange, Scorched toffee and pine. (I was wrong, the pine was harmed). Yeah a big malt body but this is seriously over the top and nearly undrinkable.
M-- Lower medium body and low carbonation. Body is correct for a DIPA. Pretty decently oily but this is just a mess. Nothing about this screams a DIPA.
O-- Terrible. Makes me want to quit drinking craft after that. Yea a big malt body but this was wrong on every level possible. Just make a barleywine instead as that could be more justified by the body. I am sorry but this was awful and not touching another Melbourne made beer other than Mountain Goat.

330ml bottle. What else would you drink on IPA Day. Hands down the best IPA to come out of Australia in my humble opinion. Looks great, smells great, tastes great. What’s left to say.

Bottle. Murky, dark brownish orange pour with a thick, foamy beige head that lasts. Aroma is restrained for the style although the hops are definitely noticeable with notes of lemon, pine, mint, grass and spruce. Flavour is a lot bigger and fruitier, and is completely dominated by the hops, with additional notes of passionfruit, mango, orange and grapefruit. Thick, creamy mouthfeel with subdued carbonation and a lingering bitter finish. Overall this is a pretty nice brew however it is wildly unbalanced and probably too rich for regular extended consumption.
