Mornington Peninsula Pale is an American-style Pale Ale, at 4.7% ABV. Pouring a cloudy golden yellow with a tightly packed white head, our Pale has both passionfruit and citrus aromas, showcasing the American hops added late in the brewing process. A light smooth palate, aided by the generous addition of wheat malts, moderate bitterness and carbonation make for a flavoursome and sessional ale.

Pours a cloudy golden colour with almost no head. Has a lovely powerful aroma which is dominated by passionfruit and floral notes. Begins very sweet, with lots of orange and some honey, which is quickly followed by a reasonably assertive (at least by APA standards) and long grapefruit hop bitterness. A fantastic, distinctive pale ale.

From a bottle. Pours a cloudy orange, fresh citrus aroma, tiny white head, punchy fruity flavours upfront with a lingering bitterness and smooth malt touches. Quite a nice drop.

UPDATED: MAY 20, 2011 Tap. Very good. Aromas of citrus, lemongrass, and honey. Taste is sweet, with light bitterness, and very good length. Palate is velvety, and medium bodied. Orange, cloudy, with a frothy head.

330ml bottle. Strong sweet passionfruit aroams spring from the glass. If you closed your eyes you would think you had a passionfruit in front of you. Golden amber colour with not much head but what is there hangs around. Flavour is very fruity with passionfruit coming through. Dry on the palate and finishes well.

Sweet aroma of bubblegum and passionfruit. Rich flavours of fruit, not overly hoppy. Smooth drinking. Would definitely drink regularly if it was more readily available.

On tap at the brewery. Served a hazy golden color with a nice head that faded to good lacing. Fresh aroma of pine, fresh fruit, inparticular passionfruit and bit of malt sweetness. Taste on citrus, mild malt sweetness and bit of passionfruit. Nice bitterness and a fairly dry finish. Medium body, crsip, smooth and flavorful. Nicely balanced. Very enjoyable beer. Nice take on the Pale Ale.

UPDATED: MAR 31, 2014 [4/11] Tap. Just hazy gold with a small white head. Aroma of kumquat and grapefruit, a little tropical fruit. Thin bodied. Not much malt flavour at all, a little sourness to go with assertive kumquat bitterness. Tasty and quaffable but a little crude. [3.1]

[4/12] Growler. Flavours seem better integrated this time and there’s no sourness. Pleasant enough, but really needs some presence from the malt side or punchier hops to stand out. [3.2]

[3/14] Can. Hazy gold with a white head. Aroma of passionfruit, oranges, hay. Honeyed hay sweetness, oranges, passionfruit. Dry with a firm tenor-register bitter finish. Said to have been tweaked but seems hugely improved.

Pours dark amber with a large, lasting head. Nose shows tropical fruit, resinous hops and lots of sweet clean malt. Textbook new-world pale ale. Similar amount of malt upon tasting, very sweet, lots of caramel. The hops are not forgotten, with more tropical fruit and resin. Finishes with a bold bitterness that can’t quite keep the malt in check. Carbonation could be higher to dry out the finish a little.
