Pretty much black with a tan head. Full bodied. Aroma is dark malts, roasted malt, chocolate, vanilla, and brown sugar. Full bodied and silky smooth. Flavor is chocolate, light coffee, roasted malt, and a bit of vanilla. Finish is sweet and velvety. It’s a little too sweet, but extremely tasty regardless. Highly enjoyable porter and great on this cold Melbourne night.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20
Dark and rich look. Aroma is a light malt coffee combination. Taste is roast and malt bitterness with a touch of cocoa. Medium to strong carbonation. Overall, decent porter but would we love a bit more sweet dark fruits in the mix!

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
Draught at Archive Beer Boutique, Brisbane. Poured an opaque black with a slight mahogany edge tint. A few light tan bubbles for a collar that laced poorly. Carbonation low. Aroma subtly of roasted coffee. Taste strongly of a nice roasted coffee that persists and a soft subtle smokiness comes through as the beer warms. Medium body. Smooth, creamy with roasted coffee on the finish. Quite nice!

Roasted coffee and almonds in smell. Touch of smoky bacon. Black malts. Light on the mouthfeel. A sessional porter. Does get better when warmer.

Can’t fault it. Complex, smoky flavour, bitter enough, good balance, nice aftertaste. On tap at the Wheaty.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20
Pours jet black with an espresso crema head that is quite thick for a porter. Looks very inviting, however the head fades to a small level of lacing very quickly. Strong milk chocolate aroma with some indication of a bitter cocoa finish. Medium body and low carbonation. Some coffee aftertaste. Excellent brew

4.2 AROMA 10/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Very light roasted aroma along with sweet vanilla scents. Dark pour with a tan retaining head. A few too many berry notes coming through on the taste. Not overly carbonated, but an overall thin feel.

Med brown, thin head, fairly strong choc aroma, with light toffee. Sweet, full and creamy body with lingering toasted malt and coffee bitterness.
